Yup that happends Ranja, your old account is closed due to inactivity so its one of the inactive ones. Thats my point Wind, although there are a lot of inactive ppl there are not that many double accounts like you mentioned. Allowing double accounts would knock out our security system and we couldn't keep track of all the troublemakers around and keep them away from the Academy. I have two, but the only reason I do is I signed up for the Academy a long time ago, but never played cause my computer/my connection sucked too much. When I got my laptop and DSL I came back here and couldn't remember my old username so I just signed up for another account. Well Wilson Dias and Ricardo Martins are the people Charly and Decypher in the game. They are my 2 rl best friends from time to time we log on our accounts from different houses to check stuff. Wind, it only takes a little math to figure out the 5000 member number. We operate for one and a half years now, thats 547 days. If we get 10 new aplications per day thats 10 X 547. 5470 applications total, thats about how many enrolled ppl we have presently. Like Buzz mentioned, many ppl have left the Academy, many ppl only come here from time to time and many ppl enroll and never come here. Add to that the fact half the active ppl are from Europe/Asia/Australia. So they keep a diferent schedule, I myself only saw you online a couple of times. And thats because I stay up late (2 or 3 am for me). I would say we have about 400 active members. Yes there might be some ppl with double accounts, we are not perfect but we do our best to prevent that and we do have the tools. Sometimes we know about them but we don't do anything because there are other explanations then them trying to pull some sort of stunt. For example if I take your account, I know that at given dates you connected to the site from Ricardo Martins and Wilson Dias's place. OR they connected from yours. (By the way, are all these boys from Jersey Portuguese or from Portuguese descendancy ?). So I could say that those are double accounts but I wont because the logical explanation is that you are 3 friends that play JK and log in tou our site. You can at any point change your name but all your posts will show with your new name. The names wont pile up or count for the total number of accounts. Ok Wind, I will try and make this as clear as possible to you. The current 5831 users listed on the academy are the number of accounts we have. The 3623 Active users on the academy are all unique users. Now the 2200 user difference between these are possible multiple accounts. Hell Spawn has had about 6 different accounts. Now looking at those 3623 active users, a lot have never accessed the site since being accepted or hasn't been active at all. Since some accounts have never been accessed since creation there is a chance someone might have 2 active accounts, but one they've never accessed. So of the 3623 members listed as active the actual number of active members is incredibly lower. Now why penalize the people with multiple accounts? Its simple. I'll use spawn again since he's so easy to use as an example of bad behavior. Spawn was banned from the academy for breaking the rules. This means he would no longer be able to join the academy servers. So if he had 2 accounts and we only banned one he'd still be able to join the servers since the other account could see the passwords. That's why we don't allow double accounts. People can only push so far before getting banned. Buzz i never said that there are over 5000 active users. What i said was that there are over 5000 names when you look at the About Us part of the site. Then i said there are about 175 people that are truly active so what are the other 4825 names for? I mean thats 4825 people that i myself and probably everyone in the academy has never seen or even heard of. No i dont but there are over 5000 academy members listed on the forums but i dont think that every single one of them is a different player. I believe that some may not be active but think this over. Lets say about 75 people play BOTH JK2 and JK3 put together. And lets say that 100 people are inactive. That makes 175 people. 5000-175= 4825 . 4825 people that i myself have never heard of or seen. People are allowed to switch their names on their profile. But if you have multiple accounts here all but one will be closed or you will perhaps even get banned.
