Howdy kids
I was wondering, how many of you go out and visit public servers,and if you wear your JA handles and tags when you do? I ask this because yesterday I ventured out to a clan server that I frequent and ran into a fellow member who was incognito. It has been a long time since I have seen this person on the JA servers, so I was pleasantly surprised when he recognized me. When he saw my tag he immediately made him self known, and made some inquires as to who my Master was, as he had noticed the improvement in my skill level since last we had met. When I go to this particular server I always sign on as Arcuss{JAP},switch to C.I.(ConnectionInterrupted, for those of you who don't know my alter ego) while I'm dueling, then back to Arcuss{JAP} before I leave. I sign on as Arcuss{JAP} so they know where I'm from,and switch to C.I. out of respect for the fact that I'm on their turf. I do this in hopes that if there're impressed it's sort of like good PR for the Academy. On regular public servers I use Arcuss{JAP},in hopes of perhaps recruiting new players,as there is always at least one person who shows interest in the tag and wants to know what it stands for. I don't know if this has actually netted any new members, but that won't stop me from continuing. So how about it,does any one else wear their tags out in public? |

well, I go to publics with people from the academy from time to time. We meet in the JA server, and one of us goes to a suitable public. Then after 10 mins, the others search for him with the player search. It's fun really, last week I went to a ctf with Aeth and Shannon and Fizz  . A public server is a JK2 server (or Quake, SOF, etc.) that's open to the public. The servers for the Academy are private servers bcuz they're only for members of the Academy.

I haven't been on any public servers yet, I still suck, but I'm improving, slowly but surely. Although, when I do finally hit a public server, I will wear my tag!

When I go to a Public server I usualy change my name to Jacen [Lone Wolf] Solo (my riginal name). I only use Jacen [LW]Solo [JAT] when I spot a potential student.
But due to the amount of neanderthals that populate Portuguese Public Servers (where I usually hang) I only did that abut 3 times. Usually I just go there to blow some steam .

i have the jas script set up so i can go to a new and improved section of the menu and change between my few names(the elf, icco, calvin166, and mixman_ice) but before that i just wore my ti tag. before that i wore my jas tag where i only got noticed when i went to deuling servers. most ffa peeps never heard of the academy but its a big thing in dueling servers. also i see alot of peeps on public servers but i only tell them im actualy in the ja if they beat/kill me. _______________ "this is Icco. The only tags required to wear on the JA servers are the ones by instructors and council members. on the pubs do what you like. Students can wear JAP/JAI/JAL/etc tags if they want.. but its not required of them. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

This is from the JA FAQ:
"Tags are now only required for JATs, however JASs can still wear theirs if they desire (only use the tag [JAS] at the end of your name though, no [JAI] or [JAL] or [JAJ] tags). Also, we recommend but do not require Knights to wear tags. Remember, a Knight is an honored position, be proud of your tag!" Now the last time I looked, right before this post, there were only four (4) Staff members indicated on the 'About Us' page. That means to me that I should only see four (4) members waring the [JAS] tag. The [JAS] tag is for Staff only, correct? Or if a Staff member is a Knight, they could ware that tag. There shouldn't even be [JAP] tags used from what I read, but it doesn't say you can't use [JAP]. This is just an observation and is not ment to cause contension. well, it depends on my mood. If i feel like being very evil (we all get those periods, you cant say you dont), I DONT wear my JAS tag, because it is mal representing the JA. But, when i am trying to do something good, and just have fun on public servers (which isnt that frequent anymore), I use my (JAS) tag _______________ When you become an actor, you become the person, and you dont act anymore. There is one place I sometimes go to, but not as often since I joined the Academy. I finally returned there sometime after I became a Knight, which was actually a week ago. Yes, I wore my tag, to show everyone what I represent, and after a few duels, they got a taste of the skills I acquired from it, especially the non-lamers, who actually have style rather than always using specials.
Basically, because I may be on a clanserver's turf, doesn't mean I shouldn't show em where I come from, they ARE open to the public aren't they?  _______________  Luke Skywalker

I don't usually wear my tag in public, the few times that I have been out there.
It's just a matter of configs in my case. Since the game uses a different config for each mod, I have like 4 different configurations in my jedi outcast files, it's a pain to remember which is which, so I just go with what I have at the moment. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

Due to the fact that I'm not often on public servers, I didn't get any responses, so far.
