Hello everyone, I have a problem concerning a virus. I have Norton Antivirus 2002 which has been very good, but now I'm not sure if it was powerful enough to stop my problem. I was at my friend's profile on AIM and there was a link there, it was strange. Foolish as I am, I clicked on it. It opened www.buddypicture.com and Norton said I got a "Trojan backdrooper" virus. It was saved in my Documents and Settings folder, called new. something. So I turned off System Restore, rebooted in Safe mode, and scanned my computer. It found nothing. I remembered that back on the site, it said that the program is not a Trojan, but it's for their ads or something. It also said that there was a link to remove it. Seeing nothing to lose, I downloaded it, scanned it resulting in no infections, and ran it. It said "Ok, removed." and I restarted and scanned my Documents and Settings folder. It said no infections. Should I believe that? What should I do? I'm afraid I may still have the Trojan backdropper.  _______________ Follow the virtues of your heart |

Yep, if norton says its clean, its clean but I would advise to scan more then just your documents and settings since Trojans like to expand to Windows folers and other folders on your pc if they execute themselves  . If the scan says its clean now, i guess its clean You might want to run another scan, or scan your pc via http://housecall.antivirus.com. Thats an online virus scan, and might detect it, if your's doesnt. If the result is clean, you should be safe. |

It looks clean right?! and nothing else you can do about it. but if you think it's not deleted, just make some back-ups of your important files and see what happens. well... if Norton showed the virus before and if it doesn't show it again and since you downloaded a specified program, I think you can be safe about it But I'm no expert... _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website!
