Just a note, if you haven't downloaded Microsoft's letest version of Direct X (9.0) then do so for your own good. I have found if helps boost netplay and SP performance for JO as well as any other game you might play.

Hey Buzz, do you have the nVidia detonator drivers? Some of the newer onew are kinda funky so start with a somewhat olderversion of them and work your way up checking which one works best for you. _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

You might want to wait before installing DX9.
Rumors say that you can't uninstall dx9 without reinstalling windows XP!!! I have Win98 and it runs without any problems. Take a look in here: groups.google.com/groups?hl=fi&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=microsoft.public.directx.misc This comment was edited by Ecomancer on Dec 27 2002 06:56am. |

I don't know if its my computer hardware or drivers but I have found a potential problem with 9.0. I got Warcraft 3 for Christmas and it keeps telling me that directX failed to initialize. I've tried changing my video card which is an nVidia to several different driver versions and I keep getting the same error. I know that my computer could run it before hand because I had borrowed my friends and played it back in september. And I don't know how to change back to DirectX 8.1. I can't reinstall it from the Warcraft 3 cd because it says that I have 8.1 or better already installed. If anyone else has War3 and downloaded 9.0 could you check and see if you have the same problem.
