saber lock finishers | |
Rendar - Student |
Just wondering if anyone can answer this. I was told that holding a diffrent direction results in a diffrent finisher if you win a saber lock. However no matter what direction i hold, I always do the same move. The stupid kick finisher with the staff that does a whooping 3 dmg. Ive been trying to do the slash, or even the one where you spin around and stab them. I cant get any of these moves to work. Like i said every single time, no matter what buttons, it always just does the kick. Any ideas? |

Well, when the server was nerfed the locks didn't always kill, the locks are turned off now so it really doesn't matter. _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

When I play MP I usually win the saberlocks, but everytime I win it the opponent finishes me off.. The only thing I do is press primary attak repeatedly as fast as I can, but i think there's something you need to do after that to finish him off.. This really bugs me because of the amount of locks I win.. _______________ [ Honorable mentions: aph3x | Milamber | Bail Hope Belouve | Jaiko D'Kana | Rosered | JediEthic | Mike/JJ/TheKing | Kensei | Dane | Gradius | Thomas Skywalker | Pink Floyd | Setementor | Steinin | Odan-Wei ] [ Owner of: MetaDust's 500th comment! | Eica's 700th comment! | Pink Floyd's 666th, 999th, 1200th and 1337th comment! | DarkRyu's 400th comment! | Redeye's 1st comment! | Cow's 1111st comment! | Rufusan's 75th comment! | Wicek's 3300th and 3400th comment! | Dash Starlight's 2000th comment! | Piccolo's 3400th comment! | Takaru's 300th comment! | Senor Hat's 900th comment! | Rytandus' 4160th comment! | The first ever awarded, the original, the one and only, Catphin Award!!1 ] "Music expresses that which can not be put in to words but can not remain silent." |

yeah, how that works, on some of the attacks you are released from the lock, before the attack, which is on a set line of attack, so if oyu avaid it you are of, like I usually rdfa to get outa duals crappy throw saber at my back (not at my opponent mind you) , its the best one I have found for that one. Lots of people kata, I find that distastful myself, but thats jsut me. _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

I think the hitting primary fire method is the most effective one. If in JK2, and it looks like the lock is getting no-where, I get my blue style ready, and lunge at my opponent in the moment the lock's broken! _______________ In the navy and LOVING it! Oh yeah, I did forget a few... oops. Staff vs staff: do a perry with one end, then slash with other. Single vs single: twirl opponents saber away and slash Dual vs dual: like single vs single but times 2 _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

what about single vs single and staff vs staff, etc. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

It has been my observation that the move you do is dependent on the lock you are in, not the direction you push. Single verse dual: single wins you do a big red hack and just kinda crush the single guy, single wins you throw one of them around and it hits the single player in the back. Single verse staff: if the server doesnt crash you both end up doing a parry then slash Staff verse dual: Staff will kick the dual player, dual will parry and side slash the staff. Hope that helps. _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

normally, in saberlocks, press attack as fast as possible, and force push lvl3. most ppl use both CTRL keys, or the mousewheel, or other setups, but these are the most common, imho. _______________ One of the Belouve boys, founder of the mighty FiZZsters Midbie council #20 - Fizz - #1933 - Jan '03 - Aug '04 "Renfield, you idiot!" |

yes, press a direction during the lock, when you win or finish the duel that will be your "finishing move" so to speak. but you have to win, and in locks don't forget thet push/pull comes into play. so pound away on that as well as attack and a direction. oh and stand on you head while you're at it just for good measure _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

Thanks for the setup 3th *tosses a 6 pack his way* Unfortunately, saberlocks happen way too often. What's even more unfortunate then that, when they happen, I try in any way shape or form to unlock, rather than win the duel, resulting in the opponent slicing Janus, in little Janus'. SOOO, I've had to adapt my technique to avoid locks on the JA server front. From saberlocks that I have gotten into, I only know Staff vs Staff usually ends up with that retarded kick, where the downed opponent pulls a 3 stooges as they try and get up, I always respectively back away and allow the opponent to get up. Granted, any other server, go for the kill, there usually is no honor on public servers, but as a respect for the JA student body, if a saberlock goes awry, I'll back away and allow for the duel to fight on honorably..... _______________ Be honorable, be friendly, be trustworthy. that would have been me i'm speaking from a single saberist perspective, so it might be different for staff. but i wouldn't think so. i would think it might be that you are hitting secondary attack? that's the kick for staff right? i know that for me it changes with the direction that i'm holding on the keypad when i win the lock. so if you're not holding a direction maybe try that. it's hard for me to say with no experience with the staff. where's Janus! yo JANUS! any help on staff finishing moves from saber locks? other than that i would say hop on the server and find a willing practice partner to help you solve some things. fyi, a good way to get into a lock is to do a mirrored swing to what you're being attacked with. _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it!
