Actually, Frosty, choosing between dual sabers or saber staff depends on your inclination between offense or defense. In offensive power, the saber staff, used properly, has the highest attack power and the greatest chance for a hit. However, the dual sabers offer a far better defense, when used correctly. Think about this, then decide which choice suites you best. _______________ Let's race. You, me, and 5 kilometers of ground. The only question is: Do you feel fast today? |

And I'm so agreed with Janus. I used single and now I'm trying to familiarize with staff, tbh because I liked how easily Maul hacked Qui-Gon and almost Obi-Wan too (I feel it sooo fake tho about that last move Obi-wan did in Episode 1.:O). I guess the general opinion is that dual are pretty defensive while staff is a bit offensive. Don't mind about the special moves, they're easily counterable with a lunge or a rolling stab. It's just a matter of taste, but staff looks sooooo cool Take care, and hope we'll meet on servers. Cossyc _______________ When Chuck Norris is late, time better slows the **** down. Learn how to use a single saber first, all of the stances. You don't have to be great with it but a basic working knoledge of all the stances will allow you to use the staff or dual sabers to their full potential, seeing as how they both go back to a single saber. Well if I had to choose between a staff or dual sabers, I would go for a staff. Basically because you can control it more then dual sabers. (dual saber is just hacking away a bit and timing those hacks to not get hit yourself) but a single saber still rocks the most to my opinion _______________ ~ Honor is a fool's prize. Dual sabers. You can do some of the best surprise moves with Dual Sabers, if you put it on Fast mode (blue), then you're using a Single, so just fight with the single, and then when things look bad, POP! Ooh, wow! Another lightsaber! Of course, you can do that with a Saber Staff, too, but the handle is too long, so it gives it away. There's also not many good moves you can do with the Saber Staff. P.S. I actually stick with the Single. Classic all the way! _______________ Hmm... he doesn't seem so tough without his head... |

Only saber that makes me comfy in JKA is staff. I found all I need in staff; power, cool moves, efficiency, speed etc. etc. I don't see any reason why I would want to change. Dual makes me feel awkward. Dual is nothing more than 2 blue stance single sabers that do random hits which I can't control. I think even a newb could master duals easily since it's what a newb would do (you know the blue-stance-noob-fighting in JK2 don't you ) As for single, it's just like JK2. But since JKA is a new game, I wanted to try something else, something new. That's why I don't use single sabers although I think they're good too. So IMHO, go staff _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

Either one is equally good. It's a matter of taste. Whichever one you feel comfortable with is likely to be the one you will become strongest in, fastest. If people don't like the butterfly it's because they can't counter it, so don't worry about them ;-) _______________ © |

but the special moves of dual is not as good as those of the staff and i think the staff does more damage per slash but swinging wildly with dual is very easy to hit _______________ I'm leaving, on a jet plane~ |

i think dual sabers have a lot of advantages and few disadvantages. you get a lot of defense from them and you don't even really have to try! in the hands of someone with just even a medium amount of skill they can be quite deadly. in the hands of someone who has really trained a lot with them they become the bane of my existance! look at old ex-student zoro for example. i didn't think he really stood out much skill wise my first two months here, but then all of a sudden he was a bad-ass with dual sabers. (granted i think he practiced hard to get that way, so i don't mean to take anything away from him.) it's just that they give a good player a dangerous edge in battle. but this is just one man's opinion. better to go with the knowledge of the collective _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

I've been using the staff since starting jk3 and pretty much since being in the academy. My own opinion, it's great, and have liked learning how to adapt to the other styles.
