The Jedi Trials | |

**** POSSIBLE SPOILERS **** Seeing as Anakin is supposedly going to be a Jedi Knight in Episode 3, it appears we will never see the Jedi trials in the Star Wars saga. However, I know alot of you folks are into the expanded universe, and I was wondering if anyone knows what the Jedi trials involve? |

There's a lot of discontuency in the original trilogy because the story was never meant to be such a success. Therefore there are some plot holes, like how the quotes from Obi-Wan and Vader don't match... Hope that helps.... _______________ "Easy is not for a Jedi"- Corran Horn, "I Jedi" Padawan of Hardwired. Brother of Rosered, PlooKoon and Carda Jowol. |

Anakin will be a Jedi Knight in Ep.III. Just follow the Ep.I. Obi-Wan said that he and Luke Father were once Jedi Knights. Since this is the last one, Anakin would have to be a Knight. Also no braid=no Padawan. As for trials, I think would be a mixture or a lot of things. Lightsaber skill, knowledge and use of theforce, patients, ect... I think the council would test the Padawan in areas they knew would be hardto him, in order to see how and if he could overcome them. thats my 0.02 _______________ Brother to: Tamal, Kavar, J.D.,Jermia, Devlin, Ulic, Xiabara, Seij,Tarron Mib,>>>ROCK ON.My Spacescapes art page.My Everything Else art page. You could be right JJ, but at that time I don't believe George Lucas had thought very deeply about a ranking system for the Jedi Knights. I believe that when Obi-Wan said he was once a Jedi Knight, he was talking about the Jedi Order as a whole, that they were all "Jedi Knights". _______________ I do not ask for your poor, or your hungry, I do not want your tired and sick, It is your corrupt I claim, It is your evil that will be sought by me, With every breath, I shall hunt them down, Each day, I will spill their blood, till it rains down from the skies. Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace, These are not polite suggestions, these are cores of behavior, And those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost. There are varying degrees of evil, I am a due lesser form of filth, not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain, For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see me, And on that day, you will reap it, And I will send you to whatever god you wish. my view: If you look at pic's of Ep3 (available somewhere, don't really know) you'll see Anakin's hair is changed --> no more braid so perhaps: no more padawan? _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! Jj's roight, he indeed was a knight, I really dont know if he'll be a knight by the beginning of that story. I just hope it feels complete, I know most of the story and have a few vid's. and, ive pretty much just started reading the books past the young jedi knights series. All this is pretty cool. I think trials should be different for each apprentice , like the one luke and kyle set up on both jk2 and jk:ja, cept the ja one wasnt a real trial. So, i think it would be something like either jk2, or a strong mission that the padawan truly overcomes the strength and fears he once had, and sometimes even doing something his master cant through wisdom, etc.. im hungry. _______________ |

Quote: i don't believe that Anakin will be a Jedi Knight yet. While he has proven his skill and power many times, he has not proven his maturity or wisdom. Plus in Ep. 4 he says "When I left, I was but a learner..." so he must still be a padawan or apprentice when he turns. Maybe you forget some of the things said in the original trilogy, such as Obi Wan Kenobi saying "I was once a Jedi Knight, the same as your father". |

Could be a mission for the padawan. Like with Obi-1 he made it a knight when he defeated maul. ,mayby it has something to do with facing the fear of a padawan, Bit it probably will be specific for the person yae, but the rest cannot be known. _______________ One night, I was lying in my bed, looking up at the stars and I said to myself: "Where the h*** is my ceiling?! |

Yes I believe Anakin will never be trialed (he says so in ep4), and just fall to the d/s. And I agree that the trial for every Jedi is (or should be) different. _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

Right, and in the Old Republic, even towards the decline, their were several castes of Jedi, so the trials would be similar to the other trials of same caste, but things will differ just as people differ. _______________ Some friends wear pants, some don't. |

I think trials would be different for each Jedi. Wouldn't you call Luke's entrance into the cave a trial? And his ultimate trial was confronting Vader and the Emperor. So I'm sure there's some structure to it, but it may also be something very individualized. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. I'd imagine something like Kyle's trial in Outcast, perhaps a bit more archaic. Saber sparring a bit I would imagine, Force puzzles, mabye diplomacy, saber vs. blaster.. It would all depend on what kind of Jedi you are going to be, if your just a jack of all trades Knight it would be a bit of everthing. And most likely also physical endurance. _______________ Some friends wear pants, some don't. |
