I've noticed talk over some skins, here in the forums. Most notably the Silent Wisper skin and the Cloaked skins.
What my concern is is as follows: According to the "rules" set out, if you want a skin on the server, you e-mail a link to the appropriate location (fixtheja ?). I see nothing about is saying "create a thread about the skin, and if you get enough people to like the skin, well, you twisted our arm, and we have to put it on." What is more of a concern to me is, what about the ONE skin I submitted in the appropriate way about a month ago (and resubmitted a week ago)? What about those that ARE doing it the proper way? I won't say what the skin is, because then this turns into a forum debating whether or not that skin should be placed on the server. It IS, however, a Star-Wars themed skin. Also, how do we know if it HAS been placed onto the server. I think that when DJ's server went, we lost the list of what skins wer on the server. If someone could ressurect such a list, that would let me know what skins are actually ON the server, so that I don't waste your time by bugging you about it. So, that's my concern. hmm...what to say, what to choose. well i myself only use the Original Trooper skin and when i finally reach Knight i might make myself a Trooper variation(only a major bribe will reveal my idea of my personal trooper..) . I've floated through the JKfiles section and found some really weird skins...Indianna Jones anyone...and i mean, it's good for fun with your friends and such, but i myself believe taht it should mainly be kept with an Original Basis for Star wars. like any of teh characters from both the movies and games, but with new clothes attached to them or something, also with the constant updateing of skins. DJ, how about, since you've got your original Zip with them all. each month you have your original zip, PLUS a second smaller ZIp of teh extra ones added that month that way everyone who's already got the original need only get the new ones...then the month after that. the last months skins go into the Main Zip and the next update is listed...i suppose it would keep everyone up to date. and such... _______________ .Lag Bro to Xanatos. once again I point out that the night elf and tyrion skins aren't star wars related and they are in the skinpack. The skinpack used to be GINORMOUS and was getting lots of complaints. So I shrunk it down to star wars only based skins.
As for the fixtheja acct: true I don't check that as much as I should. The rest of the JAC's kinda tackle that one. I do however get loads of email sent to me personally which i usually give a response on within a few days. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Hang on, so there used to be a load of skins on the server? When ever i go into the JA all i see is a load of Kyles, mostly. Does that mean that players are using skins that the server doesn't recognise or that my computer doesn't recognise? If I had the relevant skins, would i see them or not? |

To whoever just sent me an e-mail with a "Holy sh1* my apologies for missing this. [the skin submssion]" Don't sweat it, OK? I like the skin, yes, but I know how big of an issue all the server management stuff is. I jut asked for you to keep me posted, that's all. You reject it, you reject it. Tell me you'll get around to it, that's OK too. Just keep doing a good job and I'll sit and wait and follow the rules. Just don't freak yourself out over missing some e-mail from me. I kind of thought that the silent whisper skin was a special case you know since she has done a lot of things here at the academy which is why I posted it in Academy Discussion and not JK2 discussion. I wanted to let people know that it was out there and to check it out. At the same time I figured I'd make my request to have it added to the servers list at the same time. You know 2 birds with 1 stone.
And it would be nice to have a list of which skins are on the servers and maybe the links to download them, since most people won't want to redownload an updated skinpack every month or two as new skins are made and added to the servers. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill.
