Belouve Family Name - Origins

Ulic Belouve
Many people have asked me where the Belouve name came from, since I have a family of 6 total Belouves, and more people wanting to "be" a Belouve.

As for the origin of the name, it was derived from the Beoulve name. I actually MEANT to use Beoulve, many years ago. I chose a Knightly name for myself, so that in terms of filling out stuff online, I would have a false persona, instead
of using my real name. I chose Ulic, from Ulic Qel-Droma, the Jedi Knight. The Belouve was meant to be Beoulve, a character from a Final Fantasy game, Ramza Beoulve, who was a member of a powerful family, and defied the king, the church,
his friends, to stand up for what was right (they were all corrupted by an evil, and he fought to preserve what was RIGHT.)

So that's the origin of the name. I misspelled it, and it took on a whole NEW family name. I am actually trying to get a custom-made sword with "BELOUVE" enscribed on the hilt, much as powerful warrior families/clans would have the clan name enscribed on their swords, more in the Celtic era than anything.

Also, I found that there is a Forest of Belouve in France. Real beautiful forest, you can see pictures on the web. I might drop by there someday if I go to Paris (which I can 'cuz I can write my own tickets. Dad an airline pilot).

But what is a Belouve? I haven't really put my finger on it yet, but we're loyal to whatever inner tuth there is. Each person has that strength and wonder deep down that we must see and respect. Each one of us was born the same, born just as good as the other person. Deep down, all that strength is there somewhere. We work as a family to reach in and have others discover what is at their core. We are all students together. though I am the head of the family, we have sort of an older brother/younger brother situation. And I have grandpaddies!

But, this should clear up people asking the origin of the name.

I have to admit I am a little prejudice… against non-Belouves.

J/K

I once had a teacher who said that she was only prejudice against prejudice people. I thought that kinda’ defeated the purpose though.

lol ash. this thread is meant to be serious ;)

yeah I was living next to a black guy for several years, he didn't mind anyone calling him a nigger. Guess we didn't have things like the KKK here, and we do have lots of ppl from the near east here.
tolerance is the word ;)

Boy, Fizz!

No prob with me, but bro, it's a good thing you across the Atlantic with that language.

I have some friends of various colours that would fight you over that word.

However, it's funny how black people use that word commonly and it's considered just clean fun. We live in a world of various standards. People are so crazy.

yo. same w/ handicapped -> physically challenged....

when I was little I have always used "Nigger" in common sense for black people (I hope I can say that by now whilst being non offensive) but since other ppl feel picked on, u now have to use other words. U can overdo that, imho.

Baba Oje of Arrested Development summed it all up in 1993:
"....I've been called (....) nigger, negro, black american, black-afro-american, african-america, and now I am african...."

Thx, Vaughn!

Ioshee, Ioshee, Ioshee. To a **seeing impaired individual**, KKC and KKK are the same thing. Can you tell me why? Spelling is irrelavent.

Wow, this is fun, our posts go the extra mile.

To all the Belouves (and Vaughn), I love ya!

D.C.

**Edit: the word "blind" was changed to "seeing impaired" and "man" was changed to "individual", to be completely non-offensive.**

ok. first, i have to say this to Ulic.
"Just to curb a Vaughn reponse:
It is impossible to be MORE equal (hence it is a joke.)
And, there cannot BE a BIGGER half, else it is not really half. (I pull that all the time with my dad when we cut something in half "I get the bigger half!" "Quiet, you!";) "

HEY! No FAIR!!!
but, on the plus side, you now know me better (you can see potential posts that i may make before I see them :P)

second thing. DCB, after i read what you said, then looked at your profile pic, i was laughing for about a minute. Nicely worded (I never thought i would LIKE to be calling a white man Master).

Belouve dictatorship? Naw. Belouve award? maybe. Belouve family? Of course. Ulic, what you should do, is take a picture of your sword, and send it to all the Belouves, and their desktops should be that picture, or atleast have it somewhere in their room.

I also liked the sound of "Heart of Ramza" from a post below (Blade Knight).

So, I am making a knock-off of the Doobie Award...
The "Heart of Ramza".

I'm meaning for it to be given humorously for anything that falls under Belouve traits.

Like the first goes to JumpinJedi for his honesty in the statement:
"The only thing royal about anything in the JA is me - the fact that i'm a royal asshole ! :D "

It takes a big man to admit they are an asshole. For that, I award you the Heart of Ramza.

Hmm...Heart of Ramza....Iron Cross...
That makes the Belouve dictatorship too obvious, doesn't it? lol.

Edit. oh, by the way, I was referring to the general JK2 community and the existence of various online clans, not the JA community which is clearly not a clan. And certainly not the Belouve family, because we know that that is a dictatorship. LOL.

Who you calling white?

I've been tanning, I'm more of an almond complexion now (though my profile pic shows me pretty damn white.)

Anyways, I did not really know or care what color you were, Damon. And we aren't a clan, not the Belouves, not the Academy. Belouves = family, Academy = school.

But regardless, you're a person, first and foremost. So I should extend to you the same I would extend to anyone.

But remember, even though we are all equal, I am MORE EQUAL than all of you.
And I always get the bigger half.

I am truly honoured to be a Belouve and bare, I mean bear, our majestic family name.

Now, totally off topic....

I never thought I would like calling a white man Master, but

Masta Ulic is real kindlike and if I good I even get to sleep indoors.

More seriously though, I did have a problem with the word "clan" when I joined the JK2 community. I know the word's origin and what the it means, but the first thing that goings through my head is KKK. I thought I was paranoid. But in a mini survey each of my black friends and many of my non-black friends, gamers and non-gamers, indicated that KKK was their first thought when I mentioned the word "clan".

Maybe gaming "tribes" would be a more ethnoculturally sensitive term. But then again, that word can generate negative feelings. How about calling them gaming "communities"?

Back on topic....

The Belouves also love to muse over the most a-musing things.

You are right master. Hate doesn't do us any good at all. I don't believe that God does not forgive those who don't forgive others. I do believe that forgiving others can only help us though. Honestly I don't think we can truly forgive without the help of a higher power. Only in our weakness can we find the ultimate strength.

But about that equaller than thou stuff, I was totally kidding. I believe we are all given the same opportunities, the same chances, as far as good and bad goes.

Sorry I didn’t mean to get off topic at all. Maybe we should start a spiritual discussion in the general forum.

Ioshee, yes, some people are better than others, have come into contact with their inner core a bit more. But the point is to realize that we are all good people deep down, even those who annoy you, those who wrong you, and those who crash planes into your skysrapers. Yes, they have that same core as us, but they took a different path, but in truth, we cannot hate them, for we really are no different. All we can do is hope that others do not go down that path, and hope that more people find that core.

(Added note: all this "core" stuff is my way of tossing a religious spin on things without getting into a specific religion. I believe things in a much more organized slant, but won't push my religion on anyone.)

As for honor, that is part of being a Belouve too. I didn't put it in there because I didn't know how to state it.

Nice. I feel even more honored each day. However you said "Each one of us was born the same, born just as good as the other person." I mean common, you have to admit that although we are all equal, I am a little more equal than the rest right?

Just kidding, please don't beat me Master:eek:

Honestly I love the fact that the name itself was born of a typo. Fate? I think so. I mean would the name be as special if it was exactly the name of a FF character? I think not.
