Well, I figured instead of getting swamped with e-mails, this would be a better solution for all you guys/gals to list the ideas you'd like to see in the next version of the JA Mod.

1.1 should be on the servers at this time. There are several changes/fixes I made.
-new cVar to change welcome message to whatever you wish. -expanded Jedi Vs. Merc mode -amgametype <gametype> <map> : allows admin to change gametype and map -amhelp : new help system for everyone. Shows admin command help for admins. Will be fully customizable for when I get the help section written. -fixed/optimized some function calls to make it more stable. That is an issue, i also like the emotes, but, today i was killed twice in a saberlock 'illegaly', that sucks . Then a saberlock with another person, and he lets me get up before striking at me again. Now this is a person who doesnt need cheap tricks to defeat the oponent, and did defeated me.
I think this is what makes the diference in the players, and after all this is just a game, blah blah blah, right. It's the emotes...but if you are doing it here, you will be immediatly slapped with a warning for that is cheating via manipulation of the mod.

Is there a way to prevent people from getting out of saber locks unfairly? You know what I mean, and if you don't then don't ask because you are better off not knowing.
You can't exploit public servers in this way to get out of saber lock. I would be fine if it was some trick of the game but it has more to do with the mod if I'm not mistaken. Don't get me wrong I luuuuuv the Academy mod. _______________ One of the Belouve boys |

Well, the purpose of the JA Mod is so that everyone will still get the original feel for the game. Editing game specs changed JK2 to a degree that is almost unknown on the public servers.
The JA's purpose, is to train everyone, be a huge community, make friends, and still be able to go on public servers and whip some ass. Modded or not modded. For example: If we started out with just JediMod 1.2 and used that on our servers, everyone will probably forget what it was like to play JK2 ORIGINAL without being modded. Keeping this mod serverside, allows us to keep the game the way it is (basejk) and just control the servers and have some neat little things on the way. If you play on public servers, you will also notice that the JA mod and Vulcanus mod are the top two mods being used. Xmod is another mod being used on public servers as well. The common thing between these 3 mods is that they are all serverside only. I do believe, once we get l00t for new servers, that we will run other mods that have been released. This will expand the JA a great deal and with high hopes, completely be "THE PLACE" for Jedi Training... _______________ Get busy living, or get busy dying. |

Neither do I. As long as it's optional for all those ppl with crap dial-up. I have sDSL so no prob for me but think of others too(I'd hate to downlod 10MB+ just to get a custom saberhlilt on a dial-up) _______________ Falling from heaven is not as painfull, as surviving the impact. |

Well, I for one am not afraid of downloading something that's clientside in order to have what I really want.
I'm not sure I understand why you want to keep things clientside Chosen. We have the server pack with a zillion skins, and most of us have downloaded a zillion maps from other places. I already have 1 mod on my system that has the saber hilts. For me the JA is the one place it would be worth downloading a clientside mod for. I say go for it Chosen, with great guns a blazin'. that reminds me Lian. that in another Pub clan server, i found a mod. that give you a jet pack, also what you suggested, where you could choose your saber colour you could also choose your personal Hilt, in it....and in it also. you could get the Destroyer, and also have 2 sabers at one point..... _______________ .Lag Bro to Xanatos.
