Hey guys, I'm trying my hand at a bit of staff action for a bit to see if it takes my fancy, can anyone offer up any tips, oy maybe give me some help to stop me getting my butt whooped so hard? |

Somethin YY told me a long tie ago, limit when you go in for a swing do 2-4 at a time, I can't land that many and prefer red myself, but if you want some sparrin, let me know, I am always up for crossin sabers. _______________ Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation. |

ok heres my 2 cense I have been usin staff since the beginig of jk3 so i have a good understanding of it... 1st of being aggressive is a BIG no no why u ask?well for 1 thing u can get countered very badly and the hit % here is frikin deadly u REALY to be careful of ur swings cause staff isnt the best thing for defense.. so in order to keep from getin hit alot u haev to stay mobile and keep the other player guessing...how?well its good to sumtimes spin ur saber but not to much just enough to keep ctrl and still be able to use a combo by spinning ur saber a bit this will make ur opponent start to guess where ur gonna attack from the advantage is that u knwo where ur attacking and have a slight advantage...another thing is that u attack inbetween hits its xtreamly bad to attack during the other players combos cause most likely they'll be able to hit u and block ur attack at the same time and it could cost u dearly...i wouldnt recommend using katas ither the staff kata is ok but leaves u WAY to open for a counter..specials are ok ONLY when u have enough time to attack them with it.. hrmm thats some of the basics of staff hope it helps _______________ Sister to Smily,Axion,and CT Friend to ALL... Thanks for all your help so far guys!! I see what you all mean about it being so offensive - not really my style but I can work with it!! At the moment it seems like you have to treat it a little like blue stance for single saber in that you should only tap the attack button, and know EXACTLY what combo you are doing [if any], otherwise you end up turning and spinning uncontrollably all over the place - a bit like my efforts at dancing on a Saturday night!! |

First of all, hi to everyone  first time on here, hope to be of help and have a good time :xStaff is indeed a off weapon but its a nice def weapon when u dont attack yourself and know how to dodge a little. When using the saber staff, it's important to remember that both ends are connected. In other words, if you launch an attack with one end, the other end will follow, allowing for greater damage but reducing your defense to zero. One of the most common mistakes in using the saber staff is believing it to be a good defensive weapon. Generally, your saber has to work with your fighting style. For offense, use the saber staff. Defensive players should go with the dual sabers. The single saber technique offers a mix of offense and defense, but is the hardest of all to use skillfully.
