Basic Red Combos | |
n00b - Student |
I posted this in the Combos list up top, I thought I'd post here so everyone would notice it. BASIC RED COMBOS There are 8 different swings with a saber. Each swing is associated with a motion. Here are the Swings/Motions: R - Strafe Right FR - Forward + Strafe Right BR - Backward + Strafe Right B - Backward F - Forward L - Strafe Left FL - Forward + Strafe Left BL - Backward + Strafe Left Red Stance allows for a maximum 3 swing combo. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that makes for 8 x 8 x 8 possible swing combinations = 512. Fortunately for us, only some of those are valid and they are symmetrical in the Right and Left motions. Out of the possible 512, there are 58 basic combos i.e. w/o DFA or jumping, 29 to the right and 29 to the left. Practice all of these until you get them down without thinking. Here they are going to the right: R R FR R R BR R FR R R FR B R FR F R BR R FR R FR FR R BR FR FR R FR FR B FR FR F FR F FR FR F FL BR R FR BR R BR BR BR R B FR R B FR B B FR F B B FR B F BR B F BR F FR R F FR B F FR F F B FR F B BR F F FR F F BR It is symmetrical going to the left: L L FL L L BL L FL L L FL B L FL F L BL L FL L FL FL L BL FL FL L FL FL B FL FL F FL F FL FL F FR BL L FL BL L BL BL BL L B FL L B FL B B FL F B B FL B F BL B F BL F FL L F FL B F FL F F B FL F B BL F F FL F F BL If anyone sees an error in these or I missed some, let me know and I'll edit the list. I'm going to add more to this list (jumping combos, DFA combos) as soon as I can. _______________ Gone but hopefully not forgotten... This post was edited by n00b on Mar 15 2004 06:15am. |

Aight, I found a few more combos, but I am not at home now, my computer is finally back up and running so ill get it posted tonight, maybe, along with any combos I missed that noob got, a * to clarify delays, and a combo ring so you can make your own combos with out reading all of the list (all combos are doable from the ring). _______________ Using no way as way. this is great stuff guys, good work n00b and Mikel! what about adding an * or some notation to clarify what are delayed combos? that was the only part that got a little confusing to me. (i think the underline is great for clearly and quickly identifying a spin move.) _______________ this is the internet, be serious damn it! |

hey n00b, I was thinkin, to keep this list from gettin crazy, like on one of the combos, you have F B FR, and then F F FR, and maybe B B FR, and B F FR maybe you could try something generic, like I did Borward, saying it could be either forward, or backward, so I can say 4 things with 2 words. might make it a bit less daunting, I am workin out a Combo ring via Bloody Roar, we can add that in with your chart. _______________ Using no way as way. I want to thank Mikel Rider for posting his list! I'm glad there is more than one crazy person here I have been practicing the combos that Mikel has posted that were missing from my list. So far I have tested the right side and all but four that were missing work great! I wasn't waiting long enough for the delays between swings. So far, between the two of us, we have the 29 from me and 29 more from Mikel = 58 unique to the right. I am putting this all in a chart for us to examine, which I'll post soon. I still have the left side to go! For anyone who wants to know why, I've been compiling this list as a self-learning journey. So far, its been enlightening! I think Mikel and I would be honored to have the final result posted in the Holocron _______________ Gone but hopefully not forgotten... This comment was edited by n00b on Mar 17 2004 06:28am. |

Thats a pretty good comparison Jake, for the way the fastest combos work, if I interpreted you right, but you can jump around in red too, most people just either don't know, or choose not too. If I misunderstood sorry bout that, I knew that part of the map had to have some reasion it turned :-}, to bad I always fell offa those. _______________ Using no way as way. See the combo training wheels in the Jedi Academy map, you know that room with the platforms and all the weird little blocks on the floor in the shape of a compass ? thats what they were desgined for, red stance works like a compass, backwards working differently though Red stance combo wheels, mapped by virtue, desgined by yours truly _______________ Apprenctice of Jedi Master Ascari (deceased) Descended from a line of great Jedi Will argue any point of view from any side |

X-L-N-T You know, this was something that I asked for a long time ago, and there was a debate as to whether it was needed or not. Thank goodness somebody decided to do it on their own! You two rock. I'll most certainly push to have this included in the Holocron. Halendor, thanx for letting us know about it. -rh _______________ Back from the dead... |

Well Noob, you did a great job, but you are missing a few things. Here is the guide I made, i have been workin on it for a little while. It has a few mor combos, and a bit more info on the combos, and I feel it breaks it down a bit easier so you don't have to memorize al of them, and I tried to compress it a bit as well, so here goes. Things you should know: Borward means a forward or backward swing The same move can only be done 2 times in the same combo, with the exception of Back/Right A move that is Underlined is a spinning move Some of these combos have large delays between moves, but I assure you, they are combos The only combos that contain Right and left based moves are: Forward/Right-Borward-Forward/Left Forward/Left-Borward-Forward/Right These will not be included later I Have found there to be 2 Combos containing Left and right oriented moves, 38 that are right oriented, and 32 that are left oriented, for a total of 72 combos You can add a dfa to any move ending in Forward/Right, Forward/Left, and Borward, but it is not easy to do Each move may only be followed be certain other moves Borward(4)-Borward (but not when the first move was Forward/Right) -Forward/Right -Back/Right -Forward/Left (see above note) Forward/Right(4)-Forward/Right -Borward -Right -Back/Right (Delayed) Right(3)-Right (but not if the first move was Borward/Right) -Forward/Right -Back/Right Back/Right(3)-Forward/Right (Delayed) -Right -Back/Right This combined with the 2 move rule generates the following combos Borward-Borward-Forward/Right Borward-Borward- BACK/RIGHT Borward-Forward/Right-Forward/Right Borward-Forward/Right-Borward Borward-Forward/Right- RIGHT Borward-Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT Borward- BACK/RIGHT- BACK/RIGHT Borward- BACK/RIGHT-Right Borward- BACK/RIGHT-Borward Forward/Right- Forward/Right-Borward Forward/Right- Forward/Right- RIGHT Forward/Right- Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT Forward/Right-Borward- Forward/Right Forward/Right-Borward- BACK/RIGHT Forward/Right- RIGHT- Forward/Right Forward/Right- RIGHT- BACK/RIGHT Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT- Forward/Right Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT-Right Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT- BACK/RIGHT Right-Right-Forward/Right Right-Right- BACK/RIGHT Right-Forward/Right-Borward Right-Forward/Right-Forward/Right Right-Forward/Right- RIGHT Right-Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT Right- BACK/RIGHT-Forward/Right Right- BACK/RIGHT-Right Right- BACK/RIGHT- BACK/RIGHT Back/Right- Back/Right-Forward/Right Back/Right- Back/Right-Right Back/Right- Back/Right- BACK/RIGHT Back/Right-Forward/Right-Borward Back/Right-Forward/Right-Forward/Right Back/Right-Forward/Right-Right Back/Right-Forward/Right- BACK/RIGHT Back/Right-Right-Forward/Right Back/Right-Right- BACK/RIGHT The same is true for the left, with a few changes Borward(4)-Borward (but not when the first move was Forward/Left) -Forward/Left -Back/Left -Forward/Right (see above note) Forward/Left(4)-Forward/Left -Borward -Left -Back/Left (Delayed) Left(3)-Left (but not if the first move was Borward/Left) -Forward/Left -Back/Left Back/Left(3)-Left -Back/Left This combined with the 2 move rule generates the following combos Borward-Borward-Forward/Left Borward-Borward- BACK/LEFT Borward-Forward/Left-Forward/Left Borward-Forward/Left-Borward Borward-Forward/Left- LEFT Borward-Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT Borward- BACK/LEFT- BACK/LEFT Borward- BACK/LEFT-Left Borward- BACK/LEFT-Borward Forward/Left- Forward/Left-Borward Forward/Left- Forward/Left- LEFT Forward/Left- Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT Forward/Left-Borward- Forward/Left Forward/Left-Borward- BACK/LEFT Forward/Left- LEFT- Forward/Left Forward/Left- LEFT- BACK/LEFT Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT- Forward/Left Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT-Left Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT- BACK/LEFT Left-Left-Forward/Left Left-Left- BACK/LEFT Left-Forward/Left-Borward Left-Forward/Left-Forward/Left Left-Forward/Left- LEFT Left-Forward/Left- BACK/LEFT Left- BACK/LEFT-Forward/Left Left- BACK/LEFT-Left Left- BACK/LEFT- BACK/LEFT Back/Left- Back/Left-Left Back/Left- Back/Left- BACK/LEFT Back/Left-Left-Forward/Left Back/Left-Left- BACK/LEFT Finally Props to Koushka for helpin me get underline workin. _______________ Using no way as way.
