What would happen if you put a mirror in the lightsaber beam? being light it would reflect...correct? Discuss  |

The only thing I think would be reflected is the residual colored light of the lightsaber, not the blade. And I agree with JK13 that the bullets would melt, but don't think they would go through the blade. Of course they wouldn't be deflected as a laser, but at least they would be stopped. Maybe, when the bullet hit the lightsaber, the Jedi would see a little explosion and a lot of sparks would be coming out, in addition to some bigger melted pieces of the bullet that would be falling to the ground. _______________ Once I heard about something called "real life". The beam automatically returns to the hilt as per being part of a lightsaber. thats why sabers dont run out of energy very quickly. They only expend energy when they are cutting somthing. Also, they are only hot when they are actually cutting somthing as well. I say a Sabers ultimate weakenss is regular bullets. The saber wouldnt reflect the bullets becuase they arent energy. It would melt the metal and the bulllet would continue on the path. The user of the saber would get hit with a chunck of molten metal> (Ow, that smarts) _______________ It's a false hologram, it IS artificial... Well, it is definetly not a laserbeam, as it would only be seen then if you'd stare directly into the lightsource. A laser is btw only seen if it contacts with material, this material can reflect it into your eye. It could be plasma.. but that'd suck because there aren't very much plasma's coming from chrystals and especially not in a long stretched way. Its light put through a fliter that makes certain things emit certain wavelenghts of light (glow,ect) lightsaber blade (if you read the books and scripts) = made of "pure energy" if such a thing exists or could exist. It does not bend, reflect, or act like light in any way. The reason you can't see a laser beam is that the light all goes in one direction. You only see light that enters your eye. Normal light scatters, but a laser goes in a straight line from the device that generates it to wherever it hits--you see a spot where it hits because it reflects off the target as normal light. You can see it in smoke or fog because some of the photons reflect off particles as normal light. But yes, even just passing through air, some of it is indeed scattered and is visible as normal light, and the green ones are visible at night. Still not believable that lightsabres are lasers.
