Show Respect to All

What I would like to see is more respect shown to the teachers of the classes and fellow students that are there to learn. There are students here that demonstrate their disrespect by being disruptive, (you know who you are). They don’t stand still and they keep jumping on top of other students or interrupt the teacher and attempt to teach the class themselves. We all should know what respect is, so please, if you are not there to learn, don’t sign up for class.

Erm, well he was talking about in class anyway, as a matter of fact I was in the class he's talking about someone jumped on his head, he amsurrenderd and trapped him then I jumped on top of them so I could get up on the side of the pillar because I couldn't see from the plank with so many people on that one side (we were watching 2 vs1 etc).
But yeah anyway, I was moving around a bit, I was still watching and listening though...
and then class was basically over before me and tp started jumbling our bodies, he. Sorry anyway, to you and the JAT, I wasn't doing much, but I do believe I was slightly and indirectly disrespectful.

They tie in very closely Pepsi. Class discipline is one of many forms of respect that people need to learn here.

You're changing subject from respect to class discipline. There's a difference. Respect for the rules is one thing, and respect for ppl is another.

Well said Master Lew.

I recently had a fairly rough class for those reasons. The lessons go much better if the students listen and follow the lesson.

Pepsi, if you have problems with specific JAK/JAT, report them to a JAT/JAC that you don't have a problem with. The problem will be resolved. Please don't decide that they're jerks for telling people to leave the servers... They're supposed to do that on the Classes server. Also, some JAT's are very busy. Give them a little credit.

As far as respect goes, it wouldn't be bad if the JAT's and JAK's (all of them, most are ok, but there are foul apples in every basket) also respect their students. Some of the JAT's JAK's really suck at this, and it makes my stomach turn when I see initiates and learners say 'thanks for the class' to an asshole that just shoved his entire class off the server. Respect should be earned. Not by titles, but by actions. I still think ppl should be polite though (which isn't the same thing) but that sort of behaviour was downright moronic.

JumpinJedi, I would appreciate it if you don't underestimate my intelligence or use of linguistics in the future. When I say 'wrong' I mean 'wrong' as the way ppl were wrong when they thought the world was flat and held up by a pair of giant turtles. If I would have meant 'of a different opinion than I' I would have said just that.

Now. I WILL correct JAT's/JAK's if I find them to be wrong (not 'of a different opinion than I'). If they don't like it for some reason I hereby openly invite them to kick me instantly and without warning (I'll probably leave the class anyways). I'll demo every class I go to though, so make sure you're standing on your two feet, and don't grab reasons out of thin air.

Cheers

I completely agree. You kids need to learn your respect. JATs: If a kid is running about and taunting and being blatantly disruptive in your class warn them they'll get kiced if they continue. If they ignore you then kick em. If they come back and still behave like idiots then ban em for at least the end of your class & take away a point.

If all they want to do is stir up sh*t then they shouldn't have enrolled in the class.

This doesn't give you license to go all ban and point subtracting happy though. :)

I've only been to one class so far, but the way I see it is, you don't have to go to classes. It's completely voluntary. It's not like grade school where you HAVE to be there. Even if the trainer isn't working with you at the moment, you can still learn something just by watching. So if you ask me, if you're not gonna pay attention to the trainer, then don't sign up for classes. Simple as that!

See thats a common problem. I try to keep the 'waiting' times in my classes as down as possible. Mean if I have to do 1 vs. 1 parts the others should train for themself. Running around doing emotes won't improve their skill. But if they get a partner and train what they learned they show, that they want to improve.
But there are also times when i want my students lined up, when i'm doing dry theory. It's very anoying having 1-2 constantly hopping around and doing weird sounds. But i get MAD! when this ppl KEEP doing that even if others told em to stop. I mean everyone moved now or then, or gave a witty or funny remark while classes. Hey thats ok for me, since it should be fun, but most of you are in a age where standing still if asked to should not be a problem.

i agree with lew. We were in the same class yesterday, and some students were jumping/walking around all the time, using taunts, while it was clearly stated not to use these.
Same thing has happened many times before.

Not only is this a sign of disrespect for the teachers, this also shows lack of respect for the academy as a whole, and the students.

Students (hopefully) attend classes to learn and improve their skills, but this can be slowed if someone is continuing to distract both the teachers and the students.

Im not saying that people shouldnt be allowed to move at all, dont get me wrong ;) But its just hella anoying when someone deliberately takes the kit fisto model and starts jumping around.

Please not that these comments are not to be taken offensively by anyone, this is just a general comment.

Pepsi, I don't agree with what you said.

Most, if not all of the trainers teach what THEY think is right. It's all a matter of opinion. Go to the classes of teachers whom you think are skilled in a way you would like have rubbed off to you, and you'll learn the way you want to learn.

I'll be the first to admit that I dont usually stand still in class. I'm one of those types of people that doesnt like just watchin his character stand there and not do anything. Am I the only one here who feels this way?

I agree with MINDofSIN (for the most part (if more ppl do this everybody will agree (for the most part), but the subject will change to whether or not jedis use longjohns. ;))) Sometimes, however, teachers aren't as competent as they think they are, and that's a bit annoying. I feel it is my duty as a fellow metropolitan (not to be confused with 'cosmopolitan', which I fear most of the ppl here are too young to enjoy) to correct them when they are mistaken or plain out wrong. I will continue to do this, with the filantropical better for the masses before my eyes.
