I think new students sweat the 'master stuff' too much. Take your time, get to know people. To many students are trying to get a master just for the sake of having one. This is a big mistake. Get to know the JAK+ and find the ones you look up to the most. Then start learning from that person. Ask them questions - that's what they are for. Utilize them to make yourself a better fighter. You don't have to be their padawan to do this. And over time that JAK+ may decide to take you as a paddy.

I don't know about you guys but the JAK tag just makes me feel more comfortable. I'd prefer a master with the tag.

Also, be sure to only ask JAK+ (Jedi Academy Knight +'s) to be you master. Only ask a student if they are accepting any unofficial padawan('s)

I disagree. A student is just as good as a JAK+, don't go for the tag, go for the person. :)

:D Some people don't accept padawans. Then only ask a knight if they are accepting padawans. Now it's as equal as can be.

Correction, can't get it perfect: Get to know people and if they happen to be looking for a padawan (which you can find out in the 'Looking for a padawan?' thread!), you might just have a master. Also, many people will help you out if you have a problem. ;)

If thats not right, then i'm going to become confused. I have stated that any member can take padawans (as I already did mentioning JAK+'s), but members padawans would be unofficial padawans...

If you want a master, I suggest you ask anyone who is looking for a padawan. Just take a look at the 'Looking for a padawan?' thread every now and then. You can leave a comment under the 'Looking for a master?' thread which may get you one.

----Above line has been edited----

As he said, get to know them a bit. It would be kinda weird for them to have a padawan they didn't really know... Just hang around for a while like jacen said.

while = as in a few months or so...

(Weeks if your lucky)

But also, the last thing is, If your not getting everything you want from classes or you really can't make classes or something, a master with a simlar timezone can teach at an okay time.
But again, you don't have to have a master. ;)
You can learn stuff just visiting the home or wireplay servers. People usually visit there willing to share their knowledge with others.
If you want to learn a specific subject, check out the classes list and see if you can make them at that time. If you can, you can then enroll.

Basically, i'm going to start repeating myself at this point, so i'll stick with the subject, it's best if you get a master only if you REALLY need one. ;)

Best way is to just hang out on the servers/IRC/forums, and get to know people. Then, if you find someone suitable for you, you can ask that person to be your master. Or you can post in the permanent thread, 'Looking for a master'.

Note: you do not need a master. :)
