now Everyone Tells me about the bit when the Stormtooper whakks his head in a New hope, and after all these years I'll be dammed if I can see it..
BUT... Ive finally seen a continuity error in A New Hope with C3P0 when they are all at OB1's house chatting about the message, does anyone else know what Im talking about..? to be honest, its a stupid error, that is only some kind of quick thing, where there is no reason to waffle on about similar to the stormtrooper head thing, and yes I know they now comes from Jango knocking his bonce on the Slave1.. ne-way has ne1 seen this C3P0 in A new hope.. :-) _______________ We have all had Dark Times. Its how we deal with it now that makes the kind of Jedi we are. |

Lucas himself addressed the parsec issue back in 1977, which gives you an idea how old I am. He said the line was intended to show that, while Solo was a hotshot pilot and street smart, he wasn't as scientifically knowledgeable as he'd have people believe. Next time you watch it, note the smile that Obi Wan gives when he hears it--Solo doesn't know to whom he is speaking. Decide for yourself if you believe him or if you think Lucas was just covering his tail when he was caught in an emarassing error. When I first saw the movie in 1977 I didn't see a problem with it. Kessel was a spice mine; Solo was a spice smuggler. I took making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs to mean that was how far he was chased before eluding the persuing ships. I don't see why 3PO shutting down for a while and then being up again later is an error. Calling a pilot Gold Leader after the real Gold Leader was killed is probably not an error. They're in the military, and the military has such a thing as a chain of command. [i]Red 6, the poor ignored fat guy, Porkins. "I just lost my starboard engine!" about 200 Frames later, we actually see him losing his starboard engine, well, one of them, and the other seems to be in fair order.[/i] How can you tell? It isn't obviously blown to hell, but is it working? His instruments obviously tell him it isn't. I predict that we will not see the droids' memories erased in the next episode. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen between episodes three and four, but it doesn't seem right. If Amidala sold the droids to a stranger, then sure, their memories might be wiped. Owen suggests doing that with 3PO when he buys him. But in Episode IV the droids are in the service of her daughter, so she obviously kept them. It's made clear that she relates to them in such a way that she wouldn't wipe their memories--in effect killing her friends. Would her daughter, Leia, do it, given that she is, to say the least, not as warm and friendly as Amidala? Maybe, but I don't think so because she entrusts the Death Star plans to Artoo, and we're given to believe that such trust in a droid is unheard of. It sounds like she's known him for a long time and knows how dependable he is. Luke tells Obi Wan "I've never heard of such devotion in a droid before." Artoo was obviously a longtime friend of the royalty and knew Obi Wan well--he hadn't just awakened as a new person after a recent memory wipe with no memory of past loyalties. It just doesn't wash. Owen would have recognized 3PO. What's more, he would have gone ballistic. Remember, Owen knows all about Darth Vader. He's extremely protective of Luke because he lived through that ugly bit of history. He doesn't want Luke to have anything to do with Obi Wan, doesn't want him to have a lightsabre and finds endless excuses to keep him from going off to the Academy. He knows the score, and he knows that Darth Vader built 3PO! There's no way in hell he'd buy a droid built by Darth Vader unless it was to destroy said droid. Obi Wan would have recognized the droids. Perhaps he would have kept quiet about it, though, since he was planning to feed Luke a load of bull**** about his family history. All in all, the droids should not have been in any of the first three episodes. They add nothing to the story. In places they slow down the story. They introduce glaring inconsistencies in the story. The giant space slug in The Empire Strikes Back: They thought they were just in a cave on an asteroid, yet they went outside wearing nothing but oxygen masks. Well they were in the vacuum of space, so they would have exploded without proper space suits. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

In Episode II, C-3PO is living at the Lars Homestead, the same place were Luke lives... 3PO has lived there for a few years, yet when he got bought by Luke and his uncle, he never once in the film mentions that the place even looks a bit familiar... _______________ Not back yet... If you read the captions (I do) then you notice a lot of mistakes, but they're not neccessarily mistakes. Actors may always add onto their lines. Like in Episode 6: "Where's Leia?" Han Solo says: "I thought she was with you" But in the captions, it says, "no." "We got seperated," etc. In a Knight's Tale, there are a whole bunch of sentences that are added onto. So that's what they do in all movies, all human movies, and not just Episode 1 in particular. _______________ slorp |

And I live in hte Netherlands and wat is a very big disturbing factor is the incorrect explenanation of words and that there are words missing. Like when Obi-1 sais "who is this master?" (he is talking about Jar-Jar) Qui-Gon sais "a local, lets get out of here before more droids are coming". In the translation u never read a local. !!!!! what's that about. same thing for ep2. Well he did close himself down, so that could mean he still has some programming to be able to hear what is going on. Afterall how is he going to go back online if they. JProton, its not a surprise that people try to pick out the errors. Its a common event in almost every movie. In Terminator 2 when the T1000 drives the semi over the edge of the ramp the front window pane completely falls out. The next time they show a close up the window is back and only cracked. kool, after all it is only a film and ppl love to pick out the errors, and Ive never heard the "Carrie" line, but if you go over to dudestudios.com and check out the 5min cartoons based on SW this Carrie is included in it.. and to 3P0 it is when he closed down, I assume Sleep mode, but was shocked and moved when the Message was played back from R2, thats why I said it wasnt really an error, _______________ We have all had Dark Times. Ok other errors/bloopers:
ANH - As Chewbacca is running doen the hall in the deathstar, if you look carfully you can see the bottom of the trainers that Peter (the actor) was wearing under the costume ANH - Duel scene (vader and obi-wan)- Vaders lightsaber is white. This is only as you get a far off shot of the blast door closing after luke has shot the controls ESB - you hear the sound of lukes lightsaber going out BEFORE it actually does (as he leaves the Wampa lair.) ROTJ - One scene (not sure which), there is aclose up on R2D2. If you slow it down, you can see Kenny Baker through the eye/window. ROTJ - Han blows up the bunker on Endor - as he runs away, you can JUST see a reflection of him, running the oppositw direction. This is a reflection off the plexiglass shiled they used to protect him from the explosion. ESB - Han and Leia in the flacon, in the space slug. When they are haveing a "moment", just before C3PO interrupts, you can see Harrison, slightly mouthing carrie fishers lines. This is because (apparently) she was so coked up at the tim ethat she couldn't remember her own lines!! NOTE: I have also heard about the someone calling Leia "Carrie" incident. I don't know where it is supposed to be though. |

Charon you're errors have errors in them.
The stormtrooper occurs when threepio and artoo are hiding out and the stormtroopers open the door. So it occurs during the garbage chute. I've looked up so many errors that occur and seen so many but I've never heard of harrison saying carrie. There's a belief that when Luke gets out of his x-wing that he shouts "Carrie!" but it also sounds like "Hey" or just a yell of joy. And Mark Hamill and everyone else denies that he said Carrie. Other errors include calling a pilot Gold Leader after the real Gold Leader was killed. Places where they flipped the film and the imperial rank bars and vaders chestplate are reversed. you can see the rod of vaders lightsaber before he activates it in the carbon freeze. As for the Kessel Run Parsec. There are several theories. One requires that the Run is basically the route you take to get to Kessel and back. To make the run shorter requires you to skirt close to the Maw. That means your ship needs to be fast enough to escape the gravitational pull. There's also the George Lucas theory. "He's just making it up." You realize he's looking at an old man and a farm boy on a backwater, he could think they wouldn't know a parsec from pig. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. The stormtrooper knocking his helmet on the bulkhead is one of the first you see. Allmost the instant they first cut through on Organa's ship.
In the cell block, Harrison Ford goofs a line and to this day Lucas hasn't corrected the recording. (That I'm aware of, hadn't really looked for it since the THX version was released.) Instead of calling to Leia, he yells for Carrie. ;> There's also the parsec argument; "She's the ship that made the Kessel run in less than 12 Parsecs." For anyone not aware, a parsec is a measure of distance, not time. Was Han admitting he cheated in a race, cutting corners? Doesn't sound like him. Yeah, he'd cheat, but he'd never admit it untill he was caught. Chalk one up to the writers and their research. Red 6, the poor ignored fat guy, Porkins. "I just lost my starboard engine!" about 200 Frames later, we actually see him losing his starboard engine, well, one of them, and the other seems to be in fair order. Two minutes later; Red Leader.
