I should speak on this but my views I will withdraw. Ill just look at the facts. How many new players are set up on a weekly basics, not many that actuly stay, that I have seen. This academy is already established, people come here and probably won't go else where unless you get the best playres to go, then they will follow. It is a cool idea but it would just be another server, that would probably see little use unless it was very cool. People go where people are, and that is almost always KS main. The reason for the one master one apprentice thning was nothing to do with getting creamed by the jedi. Thwe sith got creamed by themselves. Too many people became too powerful and all were fithing for power amongst themselves. The winner/survivor (was it darth bane ?)declared that there would only be 2 sith from that day forward, no more, no less
I think you might be a bit confused here with what the sith are. The sith are not the opposite of the jedi (they are in the films but thats cos its the most important point in the star wars timeline). The actual opposite of the jedi are dark jedi, those who use the darkside of the force. I think making your academy a sith academy wouldn't be a good idea as it would screw with the continuity. as if anyone would evr be good or powerful enough to hold the title Sith Lord anyway, its proposterous
Dark Jei academy would be a better idea although as someone already mentioned, the darkside is also encouraged at the JA (is that a good thing or not ? Thats not what this thread is about )If you're heart is really set on it, then I say go for it, I can imgine once it was all up and running it would be quite good. hm, i think it's possible to have a real SITH academy. the one-master-one-padawan thing was only to survive after the sith got pretty destroyed by the jedi. before that, there were many sith and there must have been an academy as well _______________ Aeth S'kray *June 2002 +September 2003 |

I just want the look of the SA map to be quite different from the JA map... There should not be any places where ppl go: "Hey, just like the JA!"

mmm, at least try to do SOME things different. those ranks are far too similar to the JA's ones.
and by the way, its not important how many darths/siths/whatever there are or how you get the rank... the important thing is what they are good for. why have 20 ranks if they all do the same beside boasting egos? on the other hand, darksiders are known to be quite egoistic and unkind so go on
for tha map: make it dark. dark, creepy and cruel. dont do an outside area, 4 dueling rooms and spectator areas with unbreakable glass, i cant see any more of those maps. do something on your own. i would suggest spikes. nooo, no pit room with spikes. i mean, a tower or something, with spikes. big ones. kinda like isengard or baradur from lord of the rings. Have you seen any star wars fan films ? I highly recommend duality, can be found at www.theforce.net, it has a scne in a sort of sith duel arena, very kool. Praps instead of just making a temple sort of building like we have now, how bout something thats implanted into the side of a cliff, with a duel spot at top and landing pads and stuff. Just an idea.

thx Buzz, i think i have found a theme for the map now... one thing that may not seem important to u, but i think more or less is... is that they have real torches, instead of those light-energy thingies in the Jedi Academy... just adds a lot of the theme i want... _______________ Not back yet... I'm not personally interested in a Sith Academy. I prefer defense over offense in Force powers. But as for map ideas. It definitely needs to be deadlier than the Jedi Academy. Because as Sith, any weakness would not be tolerate and failure should result in immediate death. So there definitely would be a bottomless or spikes in a pit room instead of a shallow pond. Far more menacing and fear inspiring architecture as well. Several books and comics I think mention Sith Hieroglyphs in their temples. On a side note. The Jedi Academy in the Massasai Temples is a SITH temple. K, I'll just post the ranks here, BUT it should be said that I don't know how u increase rank!
U start with no 1, and work your way up! 1: Initiate (Light- and Darkside Force usable) 2: Dark Jedi (Light- and Darkside Force usable) 3: Sith Apprentice (Light- and Darkside Force usable) 4: Sith (Only Darkside usable) 5: Sith Lord (Only Darkside usable) 6: Darth (Only Darkside usable) 7: Emperor (Only Darkside usable) Now, about the ranks: Initiate - U start as Initiate, and it is unlimited how many there can be. Dark Jedi - Next rank, still unlimited on how many can be it. Sith Apprentice - Only as many as the Sith's are willing to take on as Apprentice'es. Sith - So far limited to 12 positions. Sith Lord - Only one, (sort of like Lead Knight). Voted in by the Sith's and Darth's. Darth - Only 5 so far, for special devotation. Coding, Mapping, Modelling, Site Designer, and Map Guard (sort of like a Sheriff) Emperor - That's Andrew-lecho... He started the Academy... If he quits, a Darth will be voted in by EVERYBODY _______________ Not back yet... I'll come one day, I hope... The madman formerly (and still) known as Tito! Yes this thread was hijacked because whenever someone brings up sith and a darkside academy, someone says how they are a lighty and prefer it. Then a darkside user goes "nuhu darkside is better" It goes back and forth and the thread loses what it was meant for. And Jake in overall Aeth isn't really agreeing with you. His personal preference is to use the darkside and he thinks its better. He's not saying its a proven fact that darkside is better than lightside in duels. Use what you think is best. Ask for the document about the Sith Academy, it says some stuff about the rules, ranks, and what it's about... U can get a special Darth position if u do something special... I got it becuz I'm makin their map... We already have one working on the website... If u do coding or modelling, then tell him... Again, mail Codebreakerblack@aol.com for more info...

geez, just play what you want. as long as u r happy with it why complain about anything
impo dark side is stronger but it massively depends on the play behind it. like new ones better use light (easier heal, abosrb), advanced take dark (more agressive) and then comes your personal choice. i say a highly skilled darksider takes out a highly skilled light sider... but thats just my opinion. oh and lightning lvl 2 is not too good i say. why? you need to aim. you can fire lvl three blind and its much easier to keep track of rolling an jumping guys. besides it does more damage i think. wanna know my forces? here they are
