As for the vote, I prefer to use a single sabre, but do not use one stance only. I switch between stances depending on what condition i think my opponent is in.

All sabers have individual strengths and weaknesses. In time, you'll see what I mean. Start with the one you do best at, then branch out and discover the other sabers and styles.

The mistake people make is they start to think that a saber or style owns because everyone is owning them with it. Some of these people start preaching false information that the style that owns them always wins against everyone. This is indeed a fallacy. When someone owns you with a saber type or style, the best thing to do is become your weakness. Let's say someone owns you with red, well, now its time to learn red and find out what that person knows. Same with yellow, blue, staff, and duals. Never make the assumption that one saber or style is better than another. Its your mindset, your knowledge, and your ability to evolve that makes you a good saberist.

Well, IMHO yellow stance is much more difficult to master, that's why there aren't many yellow-only stance users.

For me the yellow is enrichement and nice ending of the duell (that's why I try to leanr it - yet not with much success :( )

What is he best? It's only topic, which can sooner or later fall into argument. It always depends on the person, who uses the style, no matter which one it is.

i like yellow the most. it makes me feel like i'm actually dueling. heavy is just too slow for me even though it has the power. blue just doesn't have the range even though it's swift.

yellow could do a lot of damage in the hands of a master due to its unpredictability and medium range. a well balanced style. too bad it can't do much against staff and dual

I have to disagree with Moby, by the way. Not that i'm trying to brag or anything, but I used to teach Red stance here at the Academy, and i've been quite easily picked apart by yellow users. Whether I like it or not is irrelivent, but I KNOW that yellow is a superior stance. Then again, it just depends on the dueler. I just find dueling in red much more natural for how I am, you know? When I duel, i'm quite relaxed, and don't really concentrate on what i'm doing. It's more fun that way... pfft, who needs effort? :P

I'm not taggeng red a n00b stance, because its not. But...every person I've seen play JO and JA who use single saber *always* go for red stance to begin with. Every time. With base JA damage, a bit of luck and they're fragging. Has anyone else noticed this. (Although...I can only say this for the 7 people I've seen who were n00bs :))

I believe the keyword has already been stated. Adaptation. Circumstances in a fight change, openings change and styles have break points due to human error.

Out of personal experience of an old timer (heh), any style can combat any style at any time. It's not the saber, yet the mind that wields it. The reason why people can't beat a staff with yellow is exactly in this thread, your telling yourself you can't. How can you possibly do something if you don't believe it can be done?

So the best saber in the game is your mind. If you don't understand what i mean...yellow pwns! :P.

wasn't the purple stance the style Tavion used in jk2 SP? Don't remember it that well (only played with it once...maybe twice)

Well actually...they did. There was a purple style on a jk2 mod...cant remember which one. They added two new stances and purple was one of them

I believe it was omnimod, the stances were orange and purple, and they were made to be used with their dual and staff sabers. The problem was, they were both rather awful. Well, purple (the faster one) wasn't so bad. But orange had wretched speed and reach, not a good combination. I amused myself beating them with the classic stances.
