It seems to be happening a lot that when a person is being talked to because he has been "making trouble" of some sort, a lot of people like to interfere. First of all: It is annoying for the JAK+ who is trying to get an OBJECTIVE view of the matter. That won't work if there are 10 other people running around, screaming "HE DID THIS". Second: Even though someone might have been breaking rules from your point of view, it is NO VALID REASON TO BASH THIS PERSON. We should not need staff members to straighten out other members. We can settle a lot by just talking in a normal, decent way. Anyway, from now on, if someone is being talked to, wait for your turn, and CERTAINLY don't start shouting public accusations. When someone is slept, don't start using him as a football. Pretty please ![]() |

Listen to Aron and learn. My thoughts on this: If someone has broken the rules and is being punished, then let the staff or JAK do their jobs....once done, please teach the offender by setting a good example and give them a chance to redeem themselves. It would be sad if the offender left immediately because they felt they were not wanted (depends on the severity of the crime...), but it would do great justice to the JA if we could actually say that we helped make the offender a better person ![]() Am I hoping for too much? Maybe, but I believe in second chances....I have not lived a perfect life and cannot say I have never made a mistake. But I can say that for those who took the time for me I am forever greatful and in their debt.... Totally agree. Here's a good read btw. Here are some quotes from that thread: Quote: As JAS/JAP, we have no authority to discipline those who break the rules. Doing so could possibly put yourself in trouble if you make a mistake. It is fine to make friendly suggestions to other students about their conduct, but under no means should you scold or reprimand them. Your #1 goal when inappropriate situations arise is to avoid conflict. Leave the disciplinary job to the JAK+. Quote: Once a JAK+ arrives and begins to address the situation you should detach yourself from the situation and let the JAK+ handle it. This comment was edited by Tido on Jul 01 2004 05:08pm. |

well said, I totally agree _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! Quote: I try to have fun with my friends and try to make a difference as best I can. What does making a difference mean? Well, it can be as simple as saying hello, answering a question that seems obvious or heck, just talking. -- Vladarion
