Hi all! My goal of playing JK changed in a very basic matter and i want to talk with you about it, just to justify my decition and maybe to relax you a little more. In the past my goal of playing JK was aimed to learn how to fight, to increase skill. But in last time, i asked more and more to my self why should it be important to be good skilled? shure, it makes fun to pwn others and you can beat more ppl if you have more skill. But is it funny to win all games? is it funny only train only for increasing skill? now i think skill doesnt mean so much. For sure, its great to have it, and maybe its really good fealing to beat a very good skilled player. But the meantime, you want to have fun. I think i turend from "i want to be the best" to "i want to have fun"- player whish is mentioned in that article. Is it good or is it bad? i dont really know, but i dont care either. To have fun you need to play it right! What that says to me is that if I play to have fun, the learning will come on its own. As long as the game remains fun for me, I will become better at it naturally. When the game isn't fun anymore, its usually because you aren't winning a duel. That's when you may need a little training to get some insight. Keep experimenting, keep up with the Jones's, and meet people. That's what makes the game fun. I joined when we were playin outcast. I stumbled upon the Academyby accident, and I'm quite glad I did. I joined to UP my skill so I could beat those punks that kept calling me newb. Now I play because I know I can hold my own. But there are those out there who are at my lvl and well above, so it is a challenge. I guess in a more detailed version I could say I duel a lot of people from day to day who I see using tricks and techniques that I don't really know anything about. Its the kind of stuff you learn in class and in this case, knowledge is power. Progression is part of human nature and thus we all want to ascend to a better self. For some this is becoming more skilled with the game so they more easily have the upper hand in duels, for others it might be to become a Knight of Instructor or whatnot. Others just want to become a well known and liked figure in the Academy, i.e. social gain. And there are ofcourse those few among us who just want to have a good time. I'll admit that when I first came here, my goal was to be a Jedi Knight in record time ... I was so sure no one could teach me anything anymore... Improving skill should always be a goal. But yeah, having fun should be first priority. If being the best is all that's important, then one player on the planet is going to enjoy the game, and the rest of us will be very disappointed.
