Virtue is the only JAC that actually PLAYS, so I'd say we can see this as the general JAC opinion, even though it is Virtue's opinion ;)

I stand by Virtue on this. I still see them as exploits, or semi-exploits at least. If someone uses it, I won't start cussing or anything, but I still don't like to see it happening.

Virtue is that the official JAC position on the matter?

Or just your personal opinion?

I tried to do a hokey pokey thread on Crazy Stuff a long time ago, and we didn't even make it through the first verse. I seem to recall we got hung up on whether we were doing the British or American version--this was the first I ever heard there was a difference--and finally ended up with the way they do it in prison.

They're in the game and they're not supposed to be.
Learn how to play fair, that's all I can say about that.

Cutting your own genitals off isn't 'Illegal', but it sure as hell isn't a good idea now, is it?

Some of you people really need to quit nit picking and playing devil's advocate and just get it into your heads that we are a community based on teaching people to play fair. If you can't play fair, you're not welcome here.

You can argue with me on this as much as you like, but you'll never convince me that it's legit, end of story.

I'm not even going to dignify that with a long post, because it's just opinionism. Here's FACTS for you - they're in the game, and they ARE counterable. So, there's no problem. Get used to it, or play another game.

You can think they're lame and all that, but how can you classify it as cheating? Pulling honour into it all is like saying you MUST bow before a duel, or MUST say good fight.

I'm not posting this to step over people's points here, but Spinning, Swaying and Wiggling are exploits.
They are bugs and they are lame.

I'm sorry to the JAK+ who posted in this thread, but you can learn from the Students here - Get skilled, don't be lame.

Why is it lame? Why is it an exploit?
Here's why...

Alot of the Sabering System for JK3 is based on location and momentum, meaning that the faster your Lightsaber is travelling, the more damage it is likely to do (just like in RL).
So, using these dishonorable tactics forces very fast swings intended to do much more damage than any Lightsaber was intended to do for this game.

The Lightsaber System was never meant to be used this way, it was supposed to resemble realism, which it does if you get skilled, but it also opens up exploits with mouse sensitivity, which the people at Raven obviously overlooked.

Stay away from bad habits, guys. We're here to learn how to be skilled, not how to use tricks that give us an unfair advantage over others.

Unfair Advantages = Cheating.

No exploiting is going to be teached in the Academy...
We are Jedis who fight with honor and for fun...not ppl who want to win at all cost (even at the cost of fairness)

Here at the Academy you can learn how to gain SKILL
...not how to use gay tactics

1) "poking", "wiggling", "spins" and all that other "dishonourable" stuff is perfectly legal in the JA. If you don't like it, you have two choices - Deal with it, and create countermeasures, or don't duel people who use them.

2) These are not exploits, as they would have been nerfed in a patch, or whatever.

3) There are not just "Jedi" at the Academy, but CTF'ers, gunners, and people like me who like sabers, but don't take it so freakin' seriously! :P

4) Please don't make homophobic remarks.

Thank you.

I agree totally with Jacen here, it's just part of the game, more to learn, if you learn all those little things you'll be a bad-ass dueler. And it's not lame, because it takes hours of training to get it right as I've heard.

OK, let's get a few things straight:

The wiggling is, like sens spinning and swaying, a perfectly legal tactic. You might think it cheating, lame, whatever, I don't really care. But do NOT push your "honour" on others.

A skilled fighter uses whatever he has at hand, and seeing as they are not 3rd party exploiting, they are FINE.

Untill Raven releases an official statement, saying all of the above are bug exploiting and cheating, they are perfectly legal. You can think them lame if you please, I care not. But do not expect others to follow your honour code.

Uhh, I have no idea what poking is, but I doubt it's "lame". Even if someone does katas constantly in duels, it's not "lame".
