Hey all, i know it says Official but its not really...well, not yet, i was wondering if i could have a JAC's permission to make it official? *crosses fingers* Right, anyway, the aim of the contest is to create a desktop background based around the Star Wars theme. You can use any designing program like Photoshop, Paintshop Pro and yes, even Microsoft Paint. You will need to create the background with both these dimensions 800x600 1024x768 1280x1204 To do this: Photoshop - Goto Image>Image Size. Untick Constrain Proportions and type in 800, 1024 or 1280 in the top Width Box and 600, 768 or 1204 in the top Height box. Make sure they are both set to 'pixels' Paint Shop Pro - Don't know, suggestion needed MS Paint - Goto Image Attributes and 'punch' the figrues in (All of you say thank you to Silky for this 1  )this is so that people with smaller and larger monitors can have the same background without it being over stretched or shrunk. You will be saving it as a JPEG and hopefully Billy can give me a section on the JA photo album for you all to upload your pics  Somewhere on the background you will need to add the Jedi Academy URL www.TheJediAcademy.net and some sort of Star Wars/JA slogan eg: 'May the force be with you' or 'The Place for Jedi Training' We want to try and have as many entries as possible and maybe there could be a section on the site for the winning background (I'm only kiddin' DJ). There will be 1 winner and 2 runners up so get crackin'! I, myself, will not be taking part in the contest. If the contest starts dying, then i'll make a submissionUpload all your backgrounds here. The contest ends - September 1st 2004 Note from Fizz: Quote: Well I'd advise the contestants to design the picture with a WAY higher resolution, like 2-3-4 times 1280x1024. This means that you should design it in the highest screen resolution possible so that it can easily fit onto any screen size that any given individual may be using. 1280x1024 is what I use here. Oh, and what file format do you want it in? JPG or PNG? *working on his throughout the time until the deadline* EDIT: I'm using the GIMP. I can't afford PS or PSP. I would even use 1600x1200 for the people around here who are damn lucky and own a 21" monitor/flat panel. Mmmm, so if I understand the reqs, the picture has to contain images/drawing and text. Ok, what about the material used ? Pics from the movies, drawings from books are allowed ? or doe sit has to be a completely original hand-made background?
