There are very few guides about how do skin well, just remember how it will wrap on the model, and know how to draw realistically with photoshop. http://www.gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=87386 Some help with the latter here. Modeling I'll split this up into several sections. Player Modeling You will need 3DS Max to do this, which isnt cheap. Get the JK3 editing tools: http://jediknight.filefront.com/file.info?ID=18807 http://jediknight.filefront.com/file.info?ID=18604 Getting it to work. To do this effectively you really need to know how to model beforehand, and it's not easy. If you want to start modeling and you havent done it before, I advise you look at one of the other sections. Hilt Modeling You will probably want milkshape for this. http://www.massassi.com/coffeestain/03.html How to get your saberhilt from milkshape to JK2/3. http://www.btinternet.com/~howe_alison/brothers/tutorial/gmax_jkii_tutorial.htm An excellent hilt tutorial. Again you will need to learn to model seperately. Don't worry, i'll post some general milkshape or 3ds max tutorials at the end. you said you don't know how to make terrain, no? well, it's wampa hard  :you use patches... (ohh, ahhhh) you press the V key... (ohhh, ahhh) you extend the patches to what you want... as far as player modelling goes i'm screwed... i can get 3DSMax at *ahem* less than standard price, but using it is like "  OMGOMGOMG Whaddi do whaddi do???"i can map ok (not very advanced or pretty) but terrain generation screws me over... anyone know where i can find tuts for terrain? |

It's been around for a while, but as JK2 descends from interest, I doubt each time whether it will be put back up. It is truly one of the best tutorials for beginners to radiant for any game. I believe there is a .zip file with all the pages you can download from the site. I strongly recommend getting this ... just in case.  _______________ A wizard did it. |
