Ok, let's gather up some of the titles of the best games ever out there. Everyone tell their favorites. Let's go PC only for now. I'd like to hear what the rest of you guys think. Duke Nukem 3D, one of the few truly legendary games of the genre Grim fandango, amazing... just amazing American McGee's Alice, my personal favorite Doom 1 or Ultimate Doom, sorry about that Deatscythe Deus ex 1 Dune 2, how did I forget it??? Of course ive played Starcraft =) Even with the add-on Broodwar (which was a really great addition to the SP) Ive played SC in MP for a long time...but this was very very long ago. I loved it ^^ Well...i had some reasons to leave SC MP and i wont set my foot into battle.net ever again...ive promised myself that... Oh and uhm...i uhm...even bought that game...i mean...uhm...nevermind. Its still my favorite RTS game (besides C&C Generals). I have to admit that X-Com is a great game also...ive only played the sequel > UFO: Aftermath < Its really well done...and consumes a heck of time...(nearly as much as very great and old classics like > Jagged Alliance 2 < ...its build up on the same principe tho) Oh and Jagged Alliance 2 is an awesome game ^^ _______________ Find out more about the Jedi Academy Aurochs here and more about Masta here! Man, Starcraft is a classic game. As for X-Com, I've only played X-Com: Apocalypse, but that game was incredibly awesome and I got the urge to play it lately but couldnt find a store online that sold it. _______________ Brady Brothers: Orion-Greg, Furi0us-Peter, Me-Bobby. I personally liked Starcraft by blizzard. A great game where you have lines and technologies from all the greatest S.F. movies. Three races where you have the Humans known as Terrans, Aliens almost like the movie called the Zerg, and the kinda but not really alien race like the predators called the Protoss. War is waged on space platforms and many different words with an arsenal of troops/creatures and machines all with strengths and weaknesses making it a great game of stratigy and reflexes. I would highly recommend this game to anybody who has never played it even if it is out dated. Another game that I thought to be awesome was X-Com UFO Defense. This was a great game based on Alien sightings and the governments of the world funding a anti-alien unit known as X-Com where you get all of the latest and greatest equipment and soldiers from around the world. Now this does seem like much compared to what the aliens have but the best part of the game is everytime you down a ufo or explore a landing sight, if your sucessful in neutralizing the alien threat, you take their bodies, equipment, and ufo parts back to your base where you can begin studying them. Soon your giving your troops their weapons and equiping them with massive suits that protect them or allow them to fly. Mind control is another facter in this game that can be developed in the later stages and can be extremely annoying when some of your best troops turn to their side and begin destroying your men. Just a very cool game and the sequels were very cool as well. Those are two of my all around favorites. The Sims is an entertaining game, but I don't know if I would label it an all time great. Diablo and it's sequel were awesome as well and are still very popular to this day. Correct me if im wrong but wasnt the sven coop mod just some seperate coded levels for "coop" mode? I dont like such things...i mean, a real deal coop mode is SP in MP =) ...not just some new levels for MP. i dont play singleplayer in tons of games , so i dont care of SP. only reason i play SP is that the connection is all screwed up . i played unreal , but not long . cause i got unrel tournament very quickly, and it does own in multiplayer. but now im on UT2004. vehicles own. and there is a wide array of half decent[at minimum] mods. abd unreal did own half-life in graphics. but i liked half=lifes gameplay better. and the sven coop was really really fun. Have you ever heard of 3D Realms Shadow Warrior? ozzy Words of wisdom you speak there...Half-Life is definately one of THE games ever...man i remember playing it when i was a kid. It was awesome back then...damn i even remember when i had a 77mhz PC and my greatest dream ever was to own HL and beeing able to play it...omg -.- Well...ive played both opposing-force and blueshift addons (which were really great...well maybe blueshift was a bit too short).I respected valve ever since and it wont change...even when HL2 would suck big times...i still would have <3 for valve =) _______________ Find out more about the Jedi Academy Aurochs here and more about Masta here! Half Life is the greatest FPS of all time IMO Yes, later games have better graphics, but its good for its time in the gfx department. But what is excellent is the way you feel immersed in the story, and you don't have some sucky voice actor (ie JK3) ruining what you think your character is. All you have to identify with from the start is a name. Maybe other ppl didn't like it, or just disagree with me, but i can remember playing that game for hours, and having nightmares about it. System Shock 2. One hell of a game, but completely overlooked at its time, because believed to be just a doom clone. What a shame. I'd also like ot recommend Sacrifice.
