Warning: long post ahead. As you will have noticed, both the JA and the JK3 communty has been slowly dwindling in size and activity. The occasional event aside, we have but a shadow of the former activity that once graced our doors. With this in mind, after careful consultation with the JAK+ and suggestions from the student body, we have decided that this is a year for change. We have all been hoping for a Jedi Knight 4 to be released and give us a new lease of life; it is clear at this point that this will not be happening, Lucasarts have failed us. Additionally, we lack the resources to develop our own name, even with the open sourcing of the Doom 3 engine, it would not be feasible to develop an entire new game ourselves. So, we have decided to move to Star Wars: Galaxies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Galaxies) and plan to run a Pre-CU SWGemu (http://www.swgemu.com/) server. However, this transition will take significant work and we expect the move to take a significant amount of work. In keeping with past tradition, we will continue support for the previous game of choice; in this case Jedi Academy. However, we will be ceasing to support Jedi Outcast, this move has been a long time in coming, and I think it is fair to say that JK2 is dead. Looking to the future, I think we have a real chance to revitalise the community around SWG; but for this to work, we need your help. We are creating the rank of "Jedi Consular". In Star Wars canon, Consulars were the primary scholars and diplomats and seers of the Order. In the SWG universe we plan to create, they will function as GMs (Game Masters) and help us ensure the smooth running of the servers Additionally, we realise there have been complaints over the autocratic regime of the JA in the past. So in line with the theme of change and Jedi ideals, we are moving to become more democratic. Jedi Consular's will be elected democratically from among the members of the JA. If you wish to become a Jedi Consular, please send a manifesto (a statement of what you would bring to the team and why you have the skills necessary to succeed) to solitude@thejediacademy.net. Your nomination must be proposed and seconded by two different JA members. Nominations will close in 1 week. We will then publish the manifestos for the JA to view and hold an election to select the new Consulars. I hope that these are changes that we can all believe in. May the Force be with you. |

All you need for Pre-CU is the Empire Divided Box I believe. I got the SWG starter kit for SWGEmu a while back. Emu has come a long way towards mirroring SWG around the time of Pre-CU, but still has about a year or so of development. You can hop on the Nova TC Server if you want to play Emu and own a legitimate copy of SWG.

don't know exactly what you were asking... but I think we are going to have servers of all kind... Offical SWG server with the latest update, I think, Solitude or DJ are still consulting sony station about it.... and Unoffical SWGEmu server, which isn't so much of huzzle, because It is kind of free
