I'm sure those of you who really want to learn how to build your own hilts have noticed - finding a tutorial on the net that actually explains how to build lightsabers fully is a rarity. Personally, I don't think I've ever found one. Sure, there are tutorials that tell you how to model it, there are tutorials that tell you how to make the pk3, but what about the bits in between? There never seems to be a complete tutorial that shows you step-by-step how exactly to go through the whole process of modeling a hilt and actually getting it into the game. Well I decided to write one.  So for those of you who really want to build your own, custom lightsaber hilts, check it out.  Lightsaber Crafting 101 PEACE!! |

Hey guys.
It seems that the original tutorial Virtue did has long since gone. I did a little digging around and the next best thing I could find was this: Hilt Tutorial Also, a little tip. If you're trying to reach someone or ask them a question directly you are much better off leaving a little note on their profile as these older forums are not checked anywhere near as often. I can't say much for Virtues current level of activity but I'm sure he stills nips on every now and then. Hey nice tutorial but I cant seem to get past one stage [Part 3] Quote: When you have rotated your cylinder to fit perfectly into your saber background picture, right-click and select Convert To:>Convert to Editable Mesh as show in the picture to the right. The thing is on my version I cant actually find a convert to in that menu :s and also I got a bit confused from the bit right above it as well so I just guessed it  |

Very nice indeed Virtue. I love the idea of making my own hilt, and now I suppose it's possible  Of course I won't for the simple reason as Duffman stated. If I create a hilt I'd want it in the game But if everybody felt the same way, the base folder of everyones' JK3 game would take up a 40GB hard drive So I will pass on this one, but congratulate you on a job exceedingly well done.As already stated, and I can only repeat what someone else has already said, YOU ARE THE MAN! _______________ Geriatric single User, with a touch of Staff now and again.
