This game (also considered Jedi Knight 4) is a long awaited breath of life into the fan favorite series.
According to Raven, the storyline will take place after the events of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (assuming players played through the dark side ending) The game will start with Kyle Katarn flashing back to his years at the Imperial Academy. Players will play as Kyle with a completely re-done helmet-cam style HUD as a stormtrooper. The game will loosely highlight key moments in the Jedi Knight series that led Kyle to accepting the lightside of the force. This is done to instill "hope" that Jaden can be returned to the light side of the force. Jedi Knight: Redemption will have the longest and by far the most in-depth single player out of any of the games in the Jedi Knight series thus far.
