Yeah, I remember that part It's 'bevel' and 'extrude' that's giving you problems.. so here's what the commands do. First, open Gmax, and create a cilinder. Then convert it into an editable mesh. Extrude: You must first select a face of your cilinder, for example, the top. (If you press F2 it'll become more clear that you selected this face.) If you add a number behind 'extrude' (10 for example) the original cilinder will be expanded by '10,' with the new part being a new cilinder. Bevel: Actually, once you extruded a piece of cilinder, simply try bevel. Type in '5' and just see what it does; the cilinder you selected will turn into a sort of cone-shape. (It's best to try this out yourself, so you can see it.) Now, here's a few handy tips: 1.) If you click on the right arrow, behind the extrude button, you will extrude a VERY flat piece of surface. This paper-thin piece of surface is seen as a new cilinder though. Next, bevel 4, then extrude 20. Instead of that sort of cone-shape, you get a nice STRAIGHT new cilinder, with a greater diameter than the first, old piece. 2.) Using negative values for bevel will make the new piece of cilinder smaller than the first piece. 3.) Last but not least, remember that the idea is that you create your hilt as you extrude & bevel the original cilinder. It's not about building ten cilinders and paste those together, but about creating one cilinder, then 'edit' that one by extruding and bevelling. I hope that helped _______________ The name is Bond.
