First he needs to choose a distro. I recommend Ubuntu for this since it has good documentation. Info: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1046568 Here are some guides.. all depends on which mac he has: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Intel_iMac https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro And here's the Download for Ubuntu.. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download This'll work best if he has Nvidia graphics! And if sound is an issue on Ubuntu, google around. I had that issue and found a very simple fix but I forget where the link was. Wine for Ubuntu.. www.winehq.com Let me know if you have any other issues

Yeah I'll be on. Although I could be going to my grandparents' summer cottage to help clean it up for the summer. I'd be there from saturday evening to sunday noon, I guess. But I'm sure we'll find time to play.
About my plans for june... I'm not sure if it's gonna happen after all... :/ My buddy hasn't been too keen about it and as exciting as fun as it might be, I'm not sure if it'd be money well spent.
