It´s good to hear you found a place to play and enjoy yourselves. You don´t need to have your JA accounts closed, however, considering you can simply never log in again. I'm happy to help. As you mentioned Jedi Knight Trials, there are several things you should know about our system, though.
Once a student has made sufficient progress, they may or may not be toggled by the current JAK+ to face Jedi Knight Trials. Students are mostly assessed by their general attitude, gaming skill with at least one speciality and activity. One of the most important qualities is a student's attitude. We select those who follow the rules, are helpful and can keep a cool head in conflict situations. As a friend of mine has pointed out, you can train gaming skills, but not one's character. Being a Jedi Academy Knight (JAK) is not about obtaining a fancy new rank. JAKs have a very specific job to do as they are an integral part of the JAK+, who run the Jedi Academy. The structure is as follows: JAK+ means 'Knight and above'. For starters, it includes Knights, Trainers and Council Members. Council Members are the highest authorities. They have more of administrative tasks as they run the Jedi Academy. Then there are Trainers, who hold classes and have admin abilities to keep order at the servers. Knights form the most direct link to students who can assist classes and police the servers with limited admin access. In addition to that are more ranks namely the JAStaff and Jedi Masters. The JAStaff members, who are generally students, do important work for us. For instance, they can be article writers, maintain the servers or be an assistant enforcer to a JAC. Jedi Masters are the same as Jedi Trainers, only they have done such an outstanding job over a long period of time that they are rewarded with the title of JAM. It's an honorary title, which means Masters have the same tasks as Trainers. The bottom line of this is that if you are seeking to become a Jedi Knight, ask yourself why you want to. Is it to obtain a higher rank? Is it to help other students and the JA out? It should be 'for the right reasons'. So yeah, it seems that list of 'several things' that I thought you should know has turned into a short essay, lol. Anyways, I hope to have informed you about the ranks and how the JA works.
