Hi and welcome to the Academy. First of all, in order to play you need to join the academy servers. The IPs and ports can be found here. If you are unsure how to use the IP and Port information, check this arcticle here. Once you are connected to the academy servers, just have fun playing with the rest of the people. Basically all students are very helpful so you can get some advice and training from fellow students as well. However, if you want to take a class, then you can do so by looking at the classes page. You will see the subject of the class and the overall difficulty of it - like beginner or intermediate and so on. If you check the details of the class you get to a page where you have the detailed information about the class - what it is about, etc. Also you see the server which it will be held on. Euro Classes server, or Euro Fun server, or whatever. If you want to participate in the class just enroll yourself in it and make sure that you arrive at the server on time. The time of the class is generally displayed in GMT time. However if you set the GMT offset in your profile to your timezone (via "Edit your Profile"  then you can see the class times in your time.
Also I recommend you join us on IRC where you can usually find some people who are online and can help you out with specific questions. For IRC you can use the inbuilt chat from the website here, or you use the common program mIRC. How to use that program to join our channel on IRC can be found here. I know that's pretty much info to begin with. Take it slowly and I am sure you will do fine. If you have any further quesetions, feel free to contact me. Oh yeah, most important of all: Have fun!
