Yeah, but if I had gotten the Mac I would have needed to buy Windows separately (not cheap here) and such.
The price for a comparable Mac would have been more than double for what I had paid for the HP. Currently my HP has 8 GB of RAM, a 6 core 3 ghz AMD processor, a relatively low-end AMD card (6450) and a 25" glossy monitor included in the price. It was less than 1000 dollars. It was also not an all-in-one PC which is what iMacs are; aka hard to upgrade in the future. Among that are some other little things. If I wanted similar specs with an iMac (ignoring the all-in-one problem) it would have cost at least $1700. That's also with an integrated GPU, though a bit more powerful. It also has a smaller monitor. If I wanted the exact product I wanted, except from Apple, it would have cost me well over $2500. I needed a desktop machine with reasonable power and the ability to upgrade any part I wish in the future with ease. Also, iMacs seem to run pretty hot when under load. Yep, it is ![]() But I settled on an HP because I needed Windows and Linux for a college course I'm doing. That, and I paid 800 dollars for something that would have cost me at least $2200 if I had gone with the Mac =/ That said, my next laptop is likely going to be a MacBook Pro. |

Still though... 12 cores? xD
Can't really go wrong with the entry-level Macs either. As soon as Lion comes out, I plan on getting an iMac... hope they have AMD graphics (I want to try the open source drivers on Linux) on their new stuff for this summer. |

your computer will bite the dust and die before you're able to use that much RAM and processing power though ![]() |

Quote: The demo is great. I can't wait to get the game. Thanks for the video, it really helps.
The demo is horrible compared to the actual game. Hope you have fun when you get it.. quite good for an old game. Quote: Actually, I have a Mac that was made in 1999 that ran the game at about 60 FPS. it was a non-upgraded computer, and it worked quite well.
Ew bondi blue ![]() Like I said, it'll work. 60 FPS isn't really flying (on some custom maps it would probably drop to 15-25) like it would on a newer machine. But yeah, old game = low requirements. Edit: wait, JKA came out for OS9? If it wasn't an upgraded computer how did you run JKA? Upgraded to OS X? This comment was edited by Kaldør on Mar 14 2011 02:29pm. |

I downloaded the demo, but when I try to get on it wants me to put in an email address. Everytime I do that or press skip though it takes me to my desktop page and won't start up.
