Hey Broda No i didn't study him in college - i'm actually not very interested in religion at all but i won't get started on that  - i do read quite widely however, i'm not sure where i stumbled across his name, but i just wanted to know a little more about him etc. and did a search for him on the net - read this quote and said that has got to go on my profile (i'm quite sad and broing like that you know ) _______________ Support bacteria, they're the only culture some people have. |

In the userland area you'll see the same experience. "ls" is "ls" on any UNIX system, etc. There can be some pretty big differences otherwise though. Solaris is geared to run on SPARC hardware, while FreeBSD can run on x86. Installing things will be different. I have a book called "Introduction to the UNIX system" written in 1983 that is still valid. I found it at a half price books for $.50. What a find! But if you're looking for something more modern you should ckeck out the o'reilleys nutshell books. freebsdmall.com sells a paper based FreeBSD manual as well. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Get a $10 Netgear or Linksys card. Make sure its supported 1st. Nothing wrong w/ having 2 NIC's, you only need to set one up. Once you get your OS installed you can recopmpile your kernel to support all your weirdassed hardware. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |
