Interesting, very interesting. So I have been using the staff more after smily decimated me the other night and do enjoy it. I need to practice with it some more to get the rhythm of it. Yeah I still have trouble countering but it seems you just need to spend some time with it and you will catch on better then ever I am sure. Nah don't worry about me Koyi I have been through it, and I know what it is like to play the hospital game. Just take day by day and eventually you and your mom will get some where that will happy for both of you. Sorry for the bad sentances on the previous post, I should have waited to when my thoughts were more clearly organized. Take care and say hi to smily for me! Lo Koyi!, sorry for the delay on posting this. Ok, so it was the monday after thanksgiving 2001 and my dad's mom died (she had fallen ill prior to this and we expected it as much as one can expect death but at least my dad was down there and with her) So our family lives in Minnesota and Grandma lives in Illinois (about a 7.5 hour drive) Well, I was at my mom and dad's house when mom got word of grandma passing away. So we talked and made some plans to head down there Thursday and Friday to split the drive up because my wife and I had a 1 year old so we didn't want to coop him up that long. During those days my mom felt like her back went out which is a common occurrence for her. Normally she goes to the chiropractor and all is better in a few short days. She proceeded to do this but never really got better and she told me "I suppose if I didn't go down to Rita's (grandma) funeral Tommy (dad) would never forgive me." So with that said even though she was feeling bad we drove. (My mom drives cadillacs and they have digital dashes so I played a funny trick on my mom and wife, I changed the dash to read metric and I was doing like 100 km/h and I say to them "holy cow I am doing a hundred," Both of them gasp grab the hand rails and start yelling for me to slow down I nearly had to pull over I was laughing so hard.) Ok say over the next two days she is having a hard time breathing, taking short breaths and wheezing a little bit, nothing unusual just a cold I thought (she is a smoker so these things happen right?) We made it down there and she was not able to go to the wake because she felt so bad so my sister and I took turns running to the wake and funeral and taking care of mom. All the meanwhile we were like oh she is just pulling one of her drama sickness routines (my mom is the drama queen). By the time Sunday rolled around and my wife and I had to get back to Minnesota she was having an awful time breathing and she was rasping and her breaths were very short and shallow. So my brother talked to her about going in to the hospital rather than driving or flying home because he knew something serious was going on. It took all of Sunday just to convince her to go to the hospital. My wife and I were traveling back to Minnesota. Meanwhile my dad and sister admitted her to the hospital and the nurse said to them "how could you let her go this long with out care." So what happened was she got pneumonia which caused the pain in her back from her lungs being so full of junk they hurt. It also developed into sepsis which is an infection of the bloodstream. They took her in and put her straight into intensive care. She was put under and given a ventilator. Her bodily systems starting shutting down, kidneys, digestion...... So this went on for three weeks with me being in Minnesota and the rest of my family watching over my mom (I had no money and needed to work just to stay afloat). I was able to make it down there one weekend and just in case I said my goodbyes to her. ( my mom saw her whole family die and it tore her apart. The last one to go was her brother at the age of 50 since then my mom was never the same as I knew her before, she changed at that moment.) *a sidenote- I asked both my mom and dad what makes them get up in the morning they both answered I have to take care of your father/mother. I found it quite amusing then but at the hospital I told her (she was unconcious at the time) that I would take care of dad if she wanted to go to her family. It was a hard thing to say to my mom that I would be ok if she leaves me and that I can take care of dad but I said it anyway because I knew my other family wouldn't and I needed to tell her that it was ok if she really did want to go. I also said I would wholeheartedly have you stay and be here with us but I understand and I love you very much. That was the last thing I got to say to her. During these three weeks I received daily updates on my mom's health. Some days it was good, some days it was bad. In the end she had a massive heart attack. So no less then three weeks to the day from my grandma's funeral we had my mom's also. We had a ceremony in Illinois and one back here in Minnesota. I couldn't speak at the one in Illinois but I did in minnesota. Mom was an extrordinary person and one great story teller, which, I tried to duplicate at her memorial with mediocre results. You know you never know how much your parents meant to you till they are gone. I miss her a lot and I think I miss her more everyday but I know she is happy wherever she is. So, I know what you are going through if you need someone to talk to please feel free to find me. My thoughts and hopes are with you and your mom Koyi I wish you the best. Things really don't look that good for her unfortunately. Between work, visiting her, trying to sort out the mountain of bills she's accumalated, working her moneys through my account to pay the necessary ones, trying to keep my head up and clear and spending some time with Smily, and playing the new game that I received for x-mas that I pay for month by month...it has been exceedingly hard to be active here. I'm really sorry about this but incase everyone doesn't know, my mother is in critical care and the doctors are telling me that they don't think she's going to make it. I have my whole family from all over the USA using me as there hub to get all the info on my mother and this whole thing has been exceedingly exausting for me. I also want to say thank you to everyone for saying happy b-day to me. I think that's the most of those I have ever received for one b-day. Probably more then all of the others combined. I also want to thank all for their thoughts and prayers for my mother. Even if she doesn't pull through this, I understand that God has seen this whole thing through and knows what is best for His Glory. I really do appreciate all that you all have done/are doing for me.
