I give thee my 1000th comment, for when milestones are hit its those from the beginning who are remembered for making it worth the journey , I saw ya go from a n00by student, to helping myslef and Moby run the JASE from there you gained Knight in record time due to ur nuckin futs skills and <3able personality (/wookiehug). You then broke all the molds and skipped the rank of Trainer right to the spot destined for you, Council. You are the man the myth, the legend that makes this Academy what it is today. You single handedly gave theja.net to the masses in the JK3 era due to ur insane mapping skills and showed me on many a time why I love Star Wars and why i love this place so damn much. I still to this day will never forget the time and effort you spent helping me get to knight and how I truely felt like I was that Jedi Knight, keeper of the peace, waxor of the smacktards. It was my honor to meet and hang out with you in Vegas and may our future endevours coutinue to cross as these past years have been nothing but hella fun. oh and you still owe me 4 hour duel on the Matrix map

Heya Virtue, Hey I have a question, I can't really make sense of your saber tutorial (but then again I don't really do anything like that) and I was wondering how hard it would be if you could maybe make me one? The part of the tutorial that I couldn't get past was this part

Hey Virtue, Props on making such a wonderful map! I'm a huge fan of the Jedi Academy map and my RPG clan would love to play on the Academy in the Mod we use Movie Battles. I was wondering if it would be possible to add siege spawn points to make it playable in Movie Battles. I wouldn't want to mess up the gameplay for any of the fine folks that play the original map, but it would be nice to play your map in the Movie Battles mod. |

Two things: First off, I've seen that every so often you'll find a good skin/model/or map (custom-made or otherwise) that you find worthy of implementing into your server system - whether it's just one server or all of them. Well I've found a saberpack that you might be familiar with, it's called "RevanDark's Star Wars Hilts". I've been through many, many sabers before and I've gotta say these take the cake for quality and consistency. I recommend you take a look at them in-game, or simply by visiting the site, and upload them to the Academy's servers. You can click the link in my signature for quick access.
Secondly, after exploring both Academy_v2 and Academy_v3 in-depth I think we're missing something. I'm not sure if you're familiar with "The Real Jedi Acamdemy". It's a remake of the actual Jedi academy form JKA, except in MP form. I think that Academy_v3 would be improved even greater if elements of "The Real Jedi Academy" were mapped into version 4 of your map. I know this is a lot of work, but if you've got a team of mappers (or are available enough to incorporate it yourself) it honestly think it would give a more realistic and authentic feel to our community's home map. Examples include some elements of Academy_v2 such as glass encased balconies above dueling areas. I'm very impressed with your work on the academy maps - they're beautiful. This entire endeavor really earns my respect, you've helped found an organization that I've only ever dreamed of. I love it here at the Academy. I'm a multi-server admin from a ForceModIII (JKA-mod) community so I understand what it's like to be a part of a somewhat large project such as this. So listen, I've got a few thoughts that I'd like to share with the admins here. I wanted to know who I should talk with. I've got some saber hilts that I think this community would benefit from (nothing but the best out of years of experience) and also some mapping suggestions. Hey as you know i'm new to the academy and all.. But I just wanted to say that after seeing every area of the map in detail, you created one hell of a map. I really really like it, I also like the custom song on the map as well.
I do have a idea for V4 whenever you decide to start on it, if you decide to make a v4 that is. We've got a bar, we've got dueling chambers, we've got a council chamber with security switches. We've even got a Darth Maul poster of him wearing goggles, what else do we need? Well, I think it would be interesting to maybe implement a swoop track in the underground area, aka the bunker, I think it would be a cool addition to all the other toys we've got laying around, maybe even stir up some new little events. Oh and I was talking to Hardwired and he thinks that the fortress should be renamed to the bunker since its not really a fortress. My last question is, am I missting something or did you remove npcs from the map that were in v2? I remember there being a npc training area, not that its a big deal and all. I am sure there are reasons why you took them out such as people spamming them, etc. So anyways, awesome job on the map, I love it, its pretty much perfection. _______________ My xfire is: Malikith |
