In the ages before our time, the highlands of Avalon were populated by a race of men supreme. They were truly the heralds of God, a people so blessed with power, that the very earth shook under their temperate pace. Centuries of wealth and peace made these people, who were nomads of birth, restless and anxious to travel onwards. This need to travel brought the first signs of dispute among these people. For some of them, especially those with offspring, were displeased with the thought of leaving their hallowed halls and their green pastures to search for a new life. It was decided that a front-runner should be sent out to scout the outer world. The mightiest of these people was Mike, also known as the Loremaster, for his knowledge in ancient texts and songs was unrivalled. Mike had been the leader of these people for centuries, and he knew that it would be his role to leave for the outlands. Mike had no family, nor any other bonds of the like, so with gratitude and a humble composure he accepted his mission. It didn't take long for him to pack his earthly possessions, and in a couple of days' time he was ready to leave the blessed isle. After a few weeks of travelling in his small coracle, Mike spotted land in the horizon. As he neared the shore, he noticed immediately how different the outlands were compared to his previous establishment. The sky was gray with clouds, the shoreline was distinguished by jugged rocks and crude earth, very unlike Avalon, where the sky was always blue, and the ground was covered in the most beautiful shades of green grass and colourful flowers. But nevertheless, Mike reached the shore, dragged his coracle with him to higher ground, closed his eyes and breathed a prayer to his God. Thus Mike the Loremaster, the greatest of the people of the blessed isle of Avalon, arrived at the highlands of Scotland. It would take eternity to recall all the heroics that he did there, since his tale is far from over. But to cut a long story short, he found the new world was pleasent, with all its flaws and dangers. He challenged himself to make the new world as good a place to live as his old home in Avalon. Mike is still fighting for the world, creating it a better place with every breath and every passing moment. When his work is complete, he can return to Avalon and bring his kin over the sea.
