Erm, that cuz you didn't d/l an IDE (yeah I forgot to add that in the list)... You can d/l RHIDE or emacs, whichever you like (or whichever sounds better to you ![]() But if you wanna work without an IDE, here's how you compile to a program: make a .cpp or .cc file, put the code there and then go to the terminal and type (for C++ programs): gpp -o some_executable.exe source_file.cc (or .cpp)' (you can also do gxx) or in Linux: g++ -o some_executable source_file.cc (or .cpp) --- I need to have a chat with you telling you about source code, object code and executable creating, etc. That should be helpful ![]() _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

No; since the folders are the same, once you extract the data, it will be that one folder will have the data from the two other same named folder. Example abc1.zip --FOLDER1 //this is a folder ----abc.txt //text file inside FOLDER1 --FOLDER2 //another folder in abc1.zip ----def.txt //text file in FOLDER2 abc2.zip --FOLDER1 ----gah.txt --FOLDER3 ----foo.txt Now if you extract the contents of both abc1 and abc2 in a folder named "abc", you'll have: abc --FOLDER1 ----abc.txt ----gah.txt --FOLDER2 ----def.txt --FOLDER3 ----foo.txt ![]() _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. Erm... all those files you get, you are supposed to extract them to a signle directory (e.g. djgpp). Not 2 (djgpp and gnu) :/ Just extract the contents of all those zip files you got into a djgpp directory and you're done (also update the system variable). You don't get an ![]() ![]() BTW: It's a MUST that you check out the readme files (at least their important sections) about how to install something ![]() _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |

I'd be glad to help you ![]() And yeah, to make a C++ program you need another program called the "compiler" and another one called "linker" (99% of the d/l links for compilers include a linker ![]() If you use Linux, there's a compiler in your PC from the time you installed Linux, called GCC (which includes the C++ compiler called g++) If you use Windows I suggest you get (for free) either MinGW, DJGPP (this is really good) or CygWin if you want a linux-like shell with the GCC ![]() _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. |
