"Once a Trekkie, always a Trekkie!" Oh yeah? Well... "Once force-gripped, always a Stormie!" In all seriousness though, I have technical readouts and all sorts of Star Trek books. Just books though, with the exception of a stand-up model of the Enterprise D. Star Wars has always been for me, well, more real. Less sterile, as I'm sure its been described many times before. Though Star Trek always puts forth a good example of very real scenarios that we live out in our everyday lives (emphasised moreso in DS9 IMHO), it's sheer numbers (insofar as episodes and novella are concerned) lend it more of an everyday familiarity, whereas Star Wars, in the telling of deep universal truth and the core struggle between good and evil (don't EVEN open a can of relativism on this one, there's a reason I dislike the NJO), has independant, strong pillars that all the rest of the extended universe is based upon. More of a canon if you wish. Anywho, thats a synopsis of why Star Wars > Star Trek. Hope that made sense enough to you, because I'm pushing 48 hours without sleep.
