Thanks, i'll be sure to keep it in mind. Unfortunately, i was kinda struggling for diskspace quite a bit. Otherwise i wouldn't even have bothered with the precompression of individual clips. I did hear about HuffYuv though and it seems like a pretty decent solution for lossless compression. Thanks dude! I didn't use the x264 codec because sony vegas has really poor codec compatibility, or at least it does in combination with divx compressed clips. I tried rendering the video multiple times in x264, it usually resulted in no rendered video at all (completly black frames) or an error telling me something along the lines of "codec doesnt support rendering mode" etc. Infact, i originally wanted to use the xvid codec for my final render, but apparently vegas really dislikes that one aswell.
