Well, I guess the only way to get the 1920's delta blues FM radio type of sound on the harp is to get a "Shure-bullet mic". It has a distorted sound with sustain is all I know. I think I'm starting to figure out how to make the prison yard whailing sound though, you can use your lip, but that has to much wind noise, so I think the tongue is the right way to do it. I'm not sure if you heard any songs from Bruce Springsteen's tour that he's on right now, but the rendition of the song "Reason to Believe" is sung and played with harmonica through a Shure-green bullet mic. For a back beat he stomps his foot hard into the wood floor with a mic set in between two floor boards. The sound is an amazing thing to hear, very bluesy, very grim. The sound looks like it could come from a scene where it's raining, and your in a slave yard or workers field with them working away in the night through the rain, hence the prison yard whailing, and the "BOOM BOOM BOOM., BOOM BOOM BOOM" heave-ho of the slaves or workers (boot stomping). Hey Hey Henkes, hows it going? I've been trying to emulate that "prison yard 1920's delta blues FM radio sound" on the ole' harmonica. It's a really tough bend to do, so could you give me a few pointers on that kind of bend? that "1920's prison yard whailing" bend btw check out my pic, pretty neat huh?
