My tactic is to try and avoid it as best as i can =P No seriously, the times of constant powergaming and the ambitions to improve myself at all cost are long over for me. Right now, if im going to play anywhere, i really want to have at least a lil bit fun. Since i dont consider an unconsistent gameplay or huge ping-delays fun, im trying to avoid it. I dont mind random practice sessions or classes with high pings, as long as im making people happy with my attendance. What im usually trying to do during these high ping "fun matches" is: grab duals, spam sweeps and hope that someone runs into them. Hey it works most of the time >_> I usually dont really try to do my best with a high ping since yea, its quite frustrating and not really something i would call "fun". However, like with all things in jk3, there is a working tactic for these kind of situations. You see, when youre suffering from a high ping (ie 200) whilst your opponent has a decent ping, every move you do is going to actually happen with a 200ms delay. Its a bit like playing with g_sync 1, with the exception that the delay isnt visible clientside-wise. With other words, whilst you mightve timed your swing really well, your opponent will see your swing 200ms after you actually made it, resulting in a seemingly poor timed swing for him. So what you have to do in order to time your swings correctly is, to predict where your opponent will be in 200ms and use these predictions to coordinate your attacks. Yea makes jk3 a guessing-game %) Especially on mods which greatly randomize the blocking rate and/or damage like ja+... _______________ Find out more about the Jedi Academy Aurochs here and more about Masta here!
