I gave MOTREC some tips regarding the dual saber technique.

As a side note, I lived with Archangel and we both had known KC since junior high. Hence the grudge that ran between the three of us. Another fun fact, all three of us had to compete for the wild card in the original thanksgiving tourney. I won the wildcard, but still got eliminated a second time. 
That stat page is pretty inaccurate, by the way. It registers a new name on all name changes and lumps any and all kills in there, saber or not. Plus a good chunk of the community spent all their time on the NL server, which gave me terrible lag by comparison. (These stats are only DJ's server.) Man, I wish I had broadband. I would suck so terribly, but just to have a few more duels would be great. I think it would almost have to be JK2 though. I never really had a place in JK3. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs. Yes, I remember when Luke was just getting the hang of things too. I remember he did a whole lot of watching people. Oh, and I'll back up Xanatos' claims in his prior post. Damn son, I have never been so thoroughly challenged by someone with a ping like that. I remember sometimes not being able to get into the server because it was too full! I remember Huxley's mystical ghoul2 class! I remember L-Rod as going to take on one guy as a Padawan, and he got frustrated after the first class, gave up and left! (If he only knew what he was missing) I remember when I first joined, I thought I was hot sh..... well anyway, and I got my butt handed to me by practically everyone I fought against. And then I was sitting in the server late one night, just running around really and suddenly this "L-Rod" fellow joined. I thought, cool, someone I can wail on a bit. 33 duels and ZERO WINS later I was being considered for a Padawan spot. I remember when the leaked Jedi Academy came out, and a few members of the JA and I played some duels and siege. I hated it so much, haha, it was nothing like JKO at all! I remember the JASE where FaDed, NofrikinfuN, and I had offered to teach all the best red users in the Academy our way (FaDed was an old clanmate of mine which I'll get to later). Flash, Bandit, Jedi_Prodigy, Darth_Mobility (I think, at least he was the one who provided us with the server as I recall). We had about eight of the best duelists in the JA at the time. It was a blast. I remember when I first picked up Jedi Outcast, I played it on the MSN Gaming Zone (I had been playing X-Wing vs TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, and Jedi Knight there since '98) and joined a clan called The Psycho Saberists, the best saber team on the Zone. I told them I would take a brief break to learn from L-Rod and the Academy. When I came back, I fought in their internal tournament, came in first or second (I forget) and was instantly promoted to the highest non-council rank available. Normally you need a number of trials to get there, I was the only one promoted to that rank in the history of the clan. People said, "Wtf!? How!?" And that's when I brought a few clan members from TpS back here. FaDed (who later became a Jedi Knight and Jedi Trainer), Cuzza, and...... ohhh I think it was RdBest or something. _______________ © |

Yea, those were good times. I'm usually not into these 'I'm an oldbie, yay for nostalgia' kinda threads but man I remember that well. I never got one bit of training directly from you but I was still your padawan and no-one could change that. Let me tell ya, that used to be a friggin' bragging point. BUT I kept up with the rest of the squad in terms of skill level despite zero training and despite my 500-600+ ping. Tell them Carve! p.s. Who else was on it? I remember...
..i rememeber too much I remember being told "LROD, damn you , take a damn padawan already. Stop being so selfish" and i was like..hmm... This was like around the time so many were looking for a trainer. So i was like..well, there are a few out there. I saw a lil padawan named Palidus. Stubby little tail and all. Brand new. Tryin to figure out DFA. I was like, HEY DUDE, you wanna become better at the game?. He was all like, Yeah, sure. No one will take me. So i decided he would be Padawan number 1. Along the way , i decided i would take on 6. I assembled what would be the A team LOL, they remember. Poor Xanatos...he and i were never on the same time zone for him to fully receive any training...but he was still a member lol. Mr Siduro, though i think he had a diff name back then, was also among that group. Sith..i believe that was his name...was also another... The others arent active anymore..i dont think. But man did we ever have fun. They learned quite a bit and beat each other up in the process. Good times brothers, good times. Eventually..for LRod...time just wasnt very good to em. His own skill capped for a long time.. I remember fighting so hard to surpass myself...just couldnt do it. Over and over every day at the academy...setting a limit, exceeding it.. Just couldnt do it..some of these other newer guys were already catching up to me...LRod just couldnt put out the #'s he used to in frags/kills anymore. LOL, i even remember...wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back. When i met Luke. Man was that guy determined in the beginning. He lost all the time to me. Then...picked up yellow stance and perfected it. Boy did those tables ever turn. LRod received a nice wake up call sayin "HEY DUDE, You're gonna have to work harder to keep up" lol _______________ Whatcha gonna do when the Rodster runs wild on you!? Why don't people share some stories of times they had on or off the server that they really enjoyed? This IS, after all, basically a nostalgia thread. I have a lot to write and I'll write more later but I'm interested in what other people have to say too! Especially the newer people (IDs 5000+ - I guess that's not really newer anymore is it? I can't remember exactly when I started...Some time in 2002 I think.
Actually, my ID is 17...so it must of been right when the Academy started. It's awesome that this place has really survived the test of time...
