Ok. I'm posting this hastily, so I may be way off base here, but I gotta vent a little, so plz forgive if I am off base.
I just left the KS server about 5 minutes before this post. Why? Because in less than 5 minutes of being there I was shot to death inside the ceremonial hall when somebody elses game playing got way out of hand. The excuse? "We are playing a game, it's jedi vs stormtroopers and the jedi would annihilate us if we didn't use guns inside." That is just one of the things. There were knights on the server trying to bring things under control, and they were doing their best. But ppl, if you can't have respect for the rules of the JA when you join those servers, then you need to stay the hell off of them. The rules of the academy are designed at least 95% with the idea of everybody having fun. When you break those rules people suffer. When you can't respect others on the server, people suffer. How many of you came to the Academy with the idea that it was some place different from the other servers out there? I personally was attracted to the academy 1st because of it's rules of conduct, and 2nd it was a place where i might finally learn to get better at the game, instead of just getting ground into dogshit by somebody out there who just wanted to have a good time at my expense. Nobody here should have to be disciplined, the rules are posted here in plain and clear language, so why the hell is it that every day now when I'm on the server, somebody is breakin the rules, and calling everybody else whiners because they dont like it? What the hell is wrong with you people? Why must we all be brought down by fools who don't know when to quit? I'm tired of day after day of incidents like this happening, and you know what? I'm a friggin student! I can't imagine what the Knights, Trainers, and Councilmen are feeling on the subject! No wonder they aren't on the servers that often, they spend all their time dealing with problem players. Some of you guys either shape up or ship out. There is no room for that kind of crap going on, and more importantly, no excuse. End of sermon. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

Great point Kal, but I think Whispy will help take care of a lot of the misbehavior. She doesn't take crap from everything I've heard and know. So thats awesome. I hope to see some behaviors improve soon. I believe that knights have helped this out a lot though. I think that they can keep helping out just with their presence on the server. As long as there is usually one present. Just take it easy and don't start back with them when people start. _______________ A man asked me for a dollar, and I asked him what its for. Fizz this Unsubordination problem is not only specific to classes, man this isnt just following rules problem is pure lack of discipline and respect for others, i see ppl using force powers when ppl try to jump to plataforms in the matrix room, guys not waiting for my lightsaber to be on in a duel to attack me, this is lack of character( i might be tempted to say that the dark side is alluring many of the students in the Academy ),you guys get my point.
Has for the problem with classes i give you the reason why ppl misbeave: they just want points. well, if folks act like this they are just balantly stupid. removing corpses is one issue, but shooting at one guy just because he drawed his gun... boys, think bofre acting.
I basically am also quite upset, but didn't experience that nasty situations on the servers. but one word to discipline in classes: it happens more and more often that guys dont even obey JATs rules so he can yell anything three times or more iE forming a line, go to obs, etc etc. to my mind JATs should be way harsher in classes and kick out ppl that start misbehaving just to do state an example. _______________ One of the Belouve boys, founder of the mighty FiZZsters Midbie council #20 - Fizz - #1933 - Jan '03 - Aug '04 "Renfield, you idiot!" |

While we are on the topic: If the rules state "No guns in the Temple." could we please dispense with the using guns to shoot dead bodies that lie about on the floor? Please do not break out the sidearm and waste the corpse, even if you are one of those who dislike to leave an unsightly mess. I have found that if one person draws a gun of some sort, then someone else will, leading invariably to some lamer blasting at folks in the halls. You all can use anytime the command /condump anynameyoulike.txt then the whole console (all what was said, killed, picked up) will be dumped into the file you've choosen. The file is then anywhere in the jkII folder (forgot where)

Whatta ya know? I had to use /screenshot the same day of my last post, on some student who suddenly decided that my head and his lightsaber should meet despite the fact my saber was down. Repeatedly.

I tend to agree with Obi-Wan. I've seen poor behavior go on the servers for over an hour sometimes.
I hate to see anybody get into trouble, especially when it's so unnecessary, but man sometimes you gotta jerk on that leash real hard. Thanks for the support guys, I'm glad I'm not the lone gunman on this issue. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

/screenshot is the command. if you bind it to a key you can take a photo just of what you're looking at. I agree fullheartedly with all the comments here. Just to add I've noticed that sometimes the best way to deal with a disruptive person(s) is to ignore them, eventually the little buggers leave.

I agree certain things just become out of hand and many players take an atitude of what authorities dont see wont hurt me. Most players dont have a key bound to take a screenshot or know when someone is going to do something wrong so we cant just capture them in a picture. I wont use any names but someone that I had just witnessed getting lectured ("last warning ____" on shooting people stopped and as soon as there were no knights in the server started doing the same thing again. Setting traps outside so you die when you go out or killing you right when you get out there or even attacking you when your unarmed. The JA is a place to learn and we are supposed to all respect each other. Meaning this isn't just another place to play so you dont have to be so untrusting and hatefull. Someone may have a gun pointed at you with no intention of shooting (ie just spawned and is going somewhere) or someone may be just observing or training. There is no need to just kill people because you can. Anyone else agree with me thinking that the punishments for infractions should be much more harsh? I suggest that punishments handed out should affect the thinking/attitude of a player, of course i'm not saying just jump the gun and hand out bans but kngihts and above messagemode3 them and if they continue have no mercy. The JA isn't just some server you know the pw to and can say your 1337 for being a part of. Anyone agree? |
