I've recently noticed that whenever an unusual, or even normal (well, one thats happenbefore

), problem crops up, people are accused of using an illegal copy. Illegal copies can function as perfectly as originals, but this is not the point im trying to make. I so not believe it is right to accuse people of this without SOME kind of reasoned justification. JA is a game, with a serverside mod and run and made by humans, no patches have been recently released. There are going to be errors and bugs, saying that 'its warez' or the like wont help solve anyones problems. if they have a warez copy, they would also probably know of the dangers of using it.

well actually, a separate bnet prog is available to let people host their own servers. if you want to circemvent an unfair limitaion, theres always a ways. that said, when you accept the EULA in blizzrad games, the wording does say that you can only use blizzard servers.

however, battle.net does work very well and cuts doen on piracy, hacks and cheats. a good thing i think we'll all agree, and its free and has lag free servers and many useful features. all servives have bugs, but blizzrd spend a lot of money removing the bugs and administering servers.

what bugs are you referring to exactly?

*sigh* i guess the sad truth is that there are a lot of pirates out there. maybe there should be something like blizzards cd key system so that only 1 user with the same key can be online at the same time.

50% of the time someone i dont know comes on irc for help in a jk3 error they have a pirated game. I dont mean it as insult when i ask. I have gone through helping people for a long period of time then it would be in vain because there game was pirated. I just do it so the pirates dont get help from me.

that wasnt the reason why i started the thread. it was aimed at saying that errors arnt caused always caused by warez, sometimes its the bugged game.

plus with regard to prices, JA can be found for £10 in teh UK and is coming out on budget soon (i think) now who honestly cannot afford that?

Piracy is theft. You don't have the right ot tell a company what it can charge for it's product. Thats part of living in a free society. If you don't like the price or can't afford it, then don't buy it. If you go into a computer store and don't like the price the store charges for a computer, that doesn't mean you can just steal it. It is the same with software, music, anything for that matter.

And I don't think this is the proper place for you to be discussing wares (if there is any such place). Especially given the negative attention that could be brought upon our community by you expressing such opinions. So please, for the rest of us, stop this discussion in the forums. Thank you.

look at the price of gameboy and other cartridge games which cant be downloaded or pirated (by the home user) these are caused by greed, not a need to make up or piracy

oubtful...Both gaming and music companies are EXTREMELY greedy...Need I remind anyone of the fact that cd's even back before napster would run 15-20$? And look at Nintendo for crying out loud lol...I remember when mario brothers 3 was 49.96 at wal*mart!

but they wouldn't charge such high prices if there was no downloading

Think about it
for every copy of the game that's sold, they need to get the double (almost) out of it, since 1/2 persons will probably just buy the game

Stop downloading, and you'll see the prices drop a bit...

Eh, legal or illegal copies...doesnt really matter now...there wouldnt be so many illegal copies going around if companies like Lucasarts wouldnt charge so much for a video game....imo...

this is what the raven people said about "invalid game folder" once the game was out. many had the error back then because of the leaked beta, and leaked beta servers..

still, I believe you when you say you have a legal version.. jkja hasn't been patched since 1.01 and bugs happen ^^ (got the invalid game folder error myself once (with my legal version). it worked again after I reinstalled it, I remember, but it might just have been some pk3 files. I dunno)
