I've recently noticed that whenever an unusual, or even normal (well, one thats happenbefore ), problem crops up, people are accused of using an illegal copy. Illegal copies can function as perfectly as originals, but this is not the point im trying to make. I so not believe it is right to accuse people of this without SOME kind of reasoned justification. JA is a game, with a serverside mod and run and made by humans, no patches have been recently released. 50% of the time someone i dont know comes on irc for help in a jk3 error they have a pirated game. I dont mean it as insult when i ask. I have gone through helping people for a long period of time then it would be in vain because there game was pirated. I just do it so the pirates dont get help from me. Piracy is theft. You don't have the right ot tell a company what it can charge for it's product. Thats part of living in a free society. If you don't like the price or can't afford it, then don't buy it. If you go into a computer store and don't like the price the store charges for a computer, that doesn't mean you can just steal it. It is the same with software, music, anything for that matter. And I don't think this is the proper place for you to be discussing wares (if there is any such place). Especially given the negative attention that could be brought upon our community by you expressing such opinions. So please, for the rest of us, stop this discussion in the forums. Although I agree with the "Invalid Game Folder," I'm pretty sure I've had the "cl_ParsePacketEntities" error before. I'm not 100% positive on that though. But I believe I solved it by removing a pk3 that had custom npcs in it. This was a long time ago, so my memory could be serving me wrong. The packet error can also be caused by using a no-cd crack, trust me i know i tried. But I agree with aratan. Invalid Game Folder and cl_ParsePacketEntities are the only two warez-related errors I know of (though ParsePacketEntities could just be someone who bought the game, but is using no cd crack... nevertheless, it's still warez-related), and therefore, I'll continue to accuse people who receive those errors. And only those errors. I only go for those two errors, not anyothers. So I'm sorry, but the whole "whenever someone gets an error, people say warez" doesn't hold water... those two are known warez errors. |
