Well let me ask a question: If Siege came back, would people play it? I ask because we had a Siege server before, and people never played. I'd log in hoping that people would see somebody on and join, but nobody ever did. If there isn't enough of a demand for it, can we schedule some outings to a public server to play? Maybe there are fifteen active people at the JA who love Siege, and maybe we can work out our schedules to get ten of us together at once for a game. That's not enough for a real game, but it would rock to have ten of us go join a rockin' public server all at once. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

siege owns it really does but when your siege pubbin noone actually does what they're suppose to. SOmething at the Academy would be more structing therefore making playing easier.  _______________ Rawr.

Depends entirely, the way its run in my ET clan is that if someone on TS wants on (and generally there is a Referee on) and its full the person with the longest spectator time is kicked. _______________ Some friends wear pants, some don't. |

I used to be in an Enemy Territory clan that had a public server with 32 slots. Except that if you looked at it in the list it said it had 26 slots. How it worked was if the 26 slots were full, you could log in with a password and get one of the six private slots. I don't know what would be entailed in setting up a JA Siege server like that--probably a bit of C coding. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

We used to have a Seige Server..I'm pretty sure, but it didn't go over well so they took it down or made it CTF or something. here's a thought, there is a combined siege / ctf map, think it's called anatalus? - hang on will just go check my files ... Antalus_CTF_Tactical it's not BAD IMO, involves guns, walkers, explosives and of course when youare finished getting to their flag you have to get it back out, might be worth a look by those in the board room  _______________ Proud to be Padawan to Sared "It's not over 'till I WIN!!!" They have a mod just like that for Battlefield 1942. I taught intro to siege for a while. Seldom got more than two people to sign up, but it was fun. We'd do a walk-through of a map, explain the major goals and point out some of the little tricks and traps each map has to offer. I LOVE siege, but I do believe that there are no really good siege maps out there. Hoth is okay, and I used to play it a lot. Star Destroyer is great for the novelty effect--oooh, we're in a big space battle in JK3--but is actually kind of bland once you've played a few rounds. Part of the problem is the way the game itself is implemented. A truly great Siege game, IMO, would be more like a Star Wars-themed mod for Enemy Territory or Call of Duty. Those games have more of a "real combat" feel to them. The siege at Hoth in the movie seemed so believable, had a sort of a gritty realism to it that made it all seem plausible. The Imperial repeater in the game spewing big fuzzy blue balls really shatters the illusion for me. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |
