Yes, the large hexagon with a hole in the middle is the top and bottom sides of the rings.

I just opened them all out so they were flat, then stacked them on top of eachother, don't worry about making them too neat, people will hardly ever see them, anyways. :)

About the UVW mapping, what did you do with the remaining part of the rings after you unwrapped the sides of the rings? It looks like you just resized them and the ends of the saber, but I want to make sure.

Hmm, Virtue, about that UVW mapping, I dont see the little nifty rectangle. Only the two little polygons for manipulation. Help please :confused: I occassionally see glimpses of the rectangle on perspective view when I'm rotating.

Nvm, I just relected the hilt heh, selected the polygon option and clicked on the hilt and the box showed up, sneaky stuff.

Is there a site by any chance I could DL custom textures from? :) I know I can use those from the game itself, but next to that, it'd be great if they were downloadable. The less I gotta do the better :P Nah, j/k, they'd serve either as a template or example ;)

EDIT: nvm, I found out how 2 get some. Just Dl custom hilts :P

Oooooh, it 'disappears' when u move it? If so, all u need to do is to zoom out, and/or adjust the angle of ur view :)

The way i did it was to check all of my viewports (Top, left, right, etc.) and make the triangle look like a perfectly straight line. When done right, the triangle is placed correctly :)make sure u put it EXACTLY on the emitter, as well as in its very centre :) Again, the viewports'll help u doing taht :)

i can't seem to see the triangle that makes the blade go in the right direction. i can see it in bottom left screen and i can see the the other triangle in both screens. What do i do???

Oh **** i have yet another problem :( lol

You see when i export my saber as a .MD# from Gmax its fine.
Tehn however, i make the .skin file and try loading it onto the .md3 file in MD3 view.
However it either says it cant find teh saber)w .jpg or it cant find "saber_w" surface in teh MD3.
Any solutions?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

imo it doesent matter dash :P
skin will be inverted then so it only matters when u have writings on it.
u'll have to mirror them then. like Virtue :P

Dash i think thats because you have to select the left side of teh vertices when you have the "filter selected" on. Then break vertices about 6 times?Then deselect tehm and reselect and move them to teh right hand side.

Ohh and another thing i think others might find useful as i did. :D

Also, when you go back to selecting more faces, select the other vertices you didnt breal then close the unrapping box.
Once you have selected more go back to the screen for unwrapping and you will have had teh vertices already selected.
I broke teh vertices from there like that.
I found that keeping them selecting before reopening the unwrapping box broke teh vertices properly.

Now that should work but hey, there you go! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D :alliance:

Imagine Im unwrapping my hilt, and the 2d shapes I get look okay, but inverted. Like, the diagonal line in each rectangle banks to the right '/' instead of the left '\'. Is that good, managable, or utterly bad? I dont think it's much of a problem, but I just MIGHT have unwrapped things inverted LOL!

Ok now this may seem to be teh most stupid question ever but where do i export the MD3 export files. I put them all in teh scripts folder tehn the plugins folder then the stdplug folder (or something) and all it says is can't initialize import.dli or export.dle.

Thanks, lol, saves me the trouble of having to unwrap over and over again, each time i made a mistake LOL :D I have unwrapped 80 per cent of it now btw, and its SAVED :)

EDIT: Woa, i need to learn how to spell :eek:
