When you save your work in Gmax, it saved the UVW unwrap aswell, so yes, it's perfectly safe to do this. :)

Is there a way to save when uve unwrapped half of ur hilt? Or do u need to unwrap everything at once? And if Im done unwrapping, take a screeny, save, close Gmax ,paint over the screeny, open Gmax later, will that give any problems?

Sorry for the misspelling, I fixed it ;)

2. You asked about the cylinder making three times, I thought it worth a shot to describe how to do it properly. Also you had another comment, when someone else had problems with the ,,copied" dots, you said you stuck there as well. Now in my first post you should have the answer to this too.

Sorry if you had all the solutions already, ive just tried to help.

First you choose Standard primitives -> Cylinder -> (set height segments, cap segments, sides) -> THEN you click approximately on your blueprints middle and whilst you keep your mousebutton clicked, you start sliding with your mouse, therefore let your cylinder emerging from your mousepinter's ends-dot to a bigger and bigger cylinder, just as you move the mouse. Once the size covers the blueprint's one, you just release the mousebutton, and there you go, you've got your cylinder.

Well F2 does nothing for me as well ;) But some other things Ive figured out:

-Krazzed:
First you choose Standard primitives -> Cylinder -> (set height segments, cap segments, sides) -> THEN you click approximately on your blueprints middle and whilst you keep your mousebutton clicked, you start sliding with your mouse, therefore let your cylinder emerging from your mousepinter's ends-dot to a bigger and bigger cylinder, just as you move the mouse. Once the size covers the blueprint's one, you just release the mousebutton, and there you go, you've got your cylinder.

-DuckX:
Try to do the size of the floating square's sides more look like Virtue's has.

-Lepvi Pita:
When you move your mousebutton above any of the green square's sideline it will change color, so you can drag and move (and the meantime resize the two directly connected sideline) it.

-mojohojojomo,
-Rane Jowol:
download the latest tempestinstall.exe from the gmax site, then in Total Commander "Ctrl+Page down" on it, so it will open as it would be a simple Zip file, then just copy from the Tempest/plugins subdirectory(subfolder), both files (md3exp.dle and tempest.dlo) to your Gmax's plugins folder. Just a thing to mention, this "ctrl+page down" thing works with .pk3-s as well, so you dont need to stupiding around with the 1000th external program (packspace) if you use Total Commander. (http://www.ghisler.com/) (Its like Norton Comamnder but for windows)

-Aiddat:
Its not a copy, but the other dots of your cylinder which have gone behind each other, when you turned your cylinder 90 degrees around to make square shape they placed seemingly above each other. Now you can move only one of the dots to the desired position, (you can even do this only EXATLY on 1 axis, when you move your mouse above the appeared little xyz coord symbols (they appear when you click on one of your dots) the desired axis can be highlighted, and clicked on it, you can move your item(your dot) without going any other side direction but the straight.) now you got your dot far enough when you just wished, then you must remember the starting positon and the finish position's distance. This is on the bottom on the screen, X:__ Y:___ or something. When you check it, you will see, both (X an Y) will change, BUT only one of them will change at the end too, even if any movement you did with your dot (if you did with the axis sliding method as above mentioned) now once you know which one has changed permanently X or Y (when you released the mouse button) you just rememeber this new number, and you just type it for all the other seemingly-on-the-same-place or seemingly-copy-of-each-other dots at the starting position. Now when you put the new number to the field, they should just jump to the same position one after another as your desired position is.

Dash Starlight:
You must deselect and select your dots between each of the clicks on the break selected vertices.
you can select by click and hold and move the mousebutton making a square and locate all of the dots at the same time. Then click break, then click somewhere on the empty field (they become deselected) then you select them again (as above) then break again, then deselct, select, break, as many times as you feel okay, but at least 2-3 times the whole thing.

Good Luck, I hope that helped ;)

When Im trying to unwrap, the result of unwrapping one part looks okay when I have the filter on, but the 'trouble' starts when i switch it off. Though I spammed the 'break selected vertices' button countless of times, they still seem to be attached to the main hilt. (Not to each other, btw) Is this bad, and if so, what causes it and how can I 'make it go away?'

When I have to move the blue dots to make the cylinder fit my template, I have two problems:
1. They don't move, it makes a copy that gets moved.
2. Is there a way to move all of them at the same time so they stay in line?

Hey, great job on the tutorial, it's awesome! :D

I need a little help though, 'cause I got stuck at the UVW Map :(. When I tell it to do it, I don't get an orange square...

The only thing I know I've done differently to the tutorial is using more than one object, but I grouped them and 'Converted to Editable Mesh' so it shouldn't change it... should it?

Any help will be much appreciated :D.
