My computer should be shot and sent straight to hell. Er rather my router. It didn't used to do this, but now everytime i connect to the JA while using my router, i get connection interrupted after about 2 minutes. But here's the catch. I can still press tab and look at my ping, usually around 75, i can still chat with the other people, and i can follow people in spectate. So in order to try and isolate the problem i reinstalled Jk2, didn't fix it. So then i took myself off my router and plugged my computer directly into my cable modem. PROBLEM FIXED. Only that means the rest of my family can't use the internet. So if there are any suggstions, i would love to hear them. |

man i love how technology makes our lives so much easier. NOT! so i bought this switch, which makes my internet browsing fly! but when i get in game, it sends my ping up to 500-800. again, i can take myself off the switch and plug directly into my modem and i'm back to a 75 ping, but again, that means no internet for my family. what gives?! agh! |

Just to point out.. Routers are not bad.. If you didn't have routers out there you'd have no Internet at all.. Improperly configured routers or crappy home user routers are the pits. My router is a Dual PPro 200 running FreeBSD.  _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

No the hub doesn't have any kind of firewall, I use zone alarm pro on my comp, so i got it covered. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

i have a linksys router and it used to work great. but now when my computer asks "hello mr. router, sir, can i please play jk2 for a bit? my owner needs to take a class." and then my router says, "sit down, bitch!"

I just bought a new Linksys router and I luv it. My computer is all “hey dude can I like, have anIP address from you or something?” and my routers all “Coming right up sir! Please enjoy you time on the network!”

What kind of router do you use? Have you noticed any other increase in traffic lately? Have you power cycled and re-set all the cables going into the router and your hub/switch? make sure the cable going from your CPE to your router is good. (if it exists). _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

i appreciate your suggestions guys, but i think your missing the point. it used to work. and now it only works when i take my computer off the router and plug straight into the modem.
by way of software and firewalls, my computer is running zonealarm which i downloaded off kazaa. |

routers suck... good ol' hubs rule.. just use norton personal firewall downloaded from kazaa, protected by norton antivirus which is also from kazaa...
best way to keep a computer virus-free and secure, is get kazaa! lol

Here's a Few Shots in the dark... Running a firewall?...Try Disableing it then run JK2. Wire..Are the connectors nice and snug? Router..Do you have the ports Fowarded in the router? (I know one of the new servers use a dif port) Any New Software Installed? Good Luck, Grym |

You may want to check on what the rest of your family does on the internet. If you have a lot of Kazaa users, tell them Kazaa gives your computer viruses, so they stop using it... lol |

Maybe just replace the router. That seems to be the problem from what you described.
Kal - just a hub? Do you have some other kind of firewall protection? As far as I know, plain old hubs don't have any kind of firewall. btw- what's your IP? j/k
