yo guyz, was reading good old PC GAMER (uk) last week and saw a link to a JK:JA mod, thought "hmmm should chek that out", man was that a good idea, found possibly the coolest mod ever, not quite realeased yet, but will be out within a month or so. It is basically maps, skins, sabers and vehicles, all wrapped up into a timelined mod of all the coolest duels and fight scenes from EP's I, II, IV, V and VI, including the Darth Maul v Obi fight, the Obi v Jango, Yoda v Dooku, Obi v Vader, Luke v Vader :: SPOILER:: "I am your father" scene, and also the Throne Room duel. If that isn't making u think "COOL!!!" then u are no star wars fan, and should be expelled from the academy... jus jokin, but u should be ashamed of urself at least. And yet, Aidan, he knowingly chose to take money from fiscally irresponsible minors, money which never would have been "donated" had he been remotely honest with them in the first place.
Dress it up however you like. But that's all you're doing - dressing it up. Participating in the lies and deception. Suggesting those "donations" were legitimate donations and not a veiled confidence trick, is as ridiculous as having people give him $100 in exchange for a copy of the mod and then saying he wasn't selling it. Both scenarios are what they are, and his 'definitions' were nothing more than mere semantics trying to prove something wasn't what it clearly was. Age limits? Ha. Kids don't care about age limits when buying games, when drinking, when smoking, when getting female classmates pregnant at 14, when handing out personal details like contact info and addresses over the internet, or when shooting / stabbing / maiming / murdering each other. If you think any of these foolish teens are going to care about the age restrictions on Paypal, you got another thing coming. let me just make one note about the donations, he got the donations from paypal from what i heard, in order to have a paypal account you have to be over 18 so either the kids that donated were either, over 18, had their parents permission to donate in which the parents were the stupid ones, or the kids went behind their parents back in which they would have stole the money which still makes them stupid. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Sorry, just gotta pop in to say, I don't know whether to consider your half-baked theory on how antivirus softwares automatically label "every second downloaded file" as a virus as one of the most hilarious displays of computer illiteracy in the history of the human race, or a display of utter retardism.
Either way, that made my day. By the way. You can praise KotF's "awesome uber gameplay" as much as you like, doesn't change the fact that it's nothing but baseJA with a pk3 stuffed full of unedited downloads you could've gotten yourself from a mod site. Also, the installer was made with ClickTeam Installer Maker. I'd recognise it anywhere - I still have nightmares 'bout it. ClickTeam doesn't have facilities for copying files from elsewhere on the hard drive, it only has support for self-extraction. Quote: We don't care what kind of mod it is. I'm glad to see I was mistaken in saying that common decency and ethics were extinct. Aidan, you should heed those words. Whether you support the prat himself or simply the project, you're still supporting a (partially) existential embodiment of the kind of behaviour that destroys modding communities. Ask anyone from the Freelancer community, they'll tell ya. When you support a modder or a project who pulls this kind of crap, others start to think they can get away with it, and in the end everyone just starts treating each other like crap and no one mods any more; they just wait to see what they can get their sticky fingers on. Final note on the donations, before you go off on a rant about how it's people's own fault for donating, let me remind you that many - if not all - of the people whose "donations" he accepted were under 14. That's despicable whether voluntary or not. By the way, ever heard of Hustle? You should watch it. Good show, one of the best the BBC have produced, but that's not my point. Point is, it outlines exactly what a con is - convincing someone to go through with a seemingly legitimate transaction, using deception, which is precisely what Guney did. So, he wasn't "accepting donations" at all, he was taking the proceeds of a confidence trick. A con. KotF is one of the most elaborate long cons in the gaming industry; and the fact that the targets were all minors makes it thoroughly disgusting as well. Normally I wouldn't have bothered setting you straight, I'm long since done with this fiasco. However, I felt kinda sorry for you. You're just so uneducated about.... well.... everything. |
